    Clone vs S1

When the original Gorilla Glue #4 was a "clone-only" plant, I bought several 8ths of the flower in my local retail shop, over the course of time. Every now and then, I'd get a bud that had some perfectly-ripe seeds in it. So, of course, I saved every one. I assumed they were made from...

    Clone vs S1

Is a seed produced by a 'nanner the same as an S1?

What are the most premium seeds?

ALL my seeds used to be bag seeds back in the 70's. That was the only way to get seeds. They just came with the bales of leaves, sticks, rocks and other junk that we used to get ripped off with whenever someone made a run south of the border to buy a couple pounds. But every now and then, we'd...

    Unusual Mutation

I've had that happen a few times...everything starts out fine...but then the first serrated leaves don't want to form. It seems to be just a genetic aberration. For a seedling that's two weeks old, it looks very small. It won't hurt anything to give it a chance to grow out of it, but it might...

Looking for the best LED maker out now

Almost any light WILL work....and there are plenty of great growers who flowered under T5s. Members on this site have been posting all kinds of awesome results using all kinds of lights. I grew great weed back in the 70's, too, but not because I had the best lights. It was great because the...

Looking for the best LED maker out now

Got it and I have a dimmable light that I'm using at the moment. The point is that there's too much hair-splitting over data points that don't really matter that much unless you just grow the same strains over and over again and can dial in a specific type of lighting for a specific type of...

Is there any 1000w HPS that doesn’t emit orange light

No. It's the nature of HPS light. The color is the very reason why some people prefer it to other spectrums of light. It's the color it is because thats the color that sodium gas emits when it's electrically stimulated. It's now considered somewhat antiquated lighting option because the lighting...

Looking for the best LED maker out now

They might not be working as well as they did when they were brand new, but they still work better than the fluorescent shoplights that preceded them. And, to be honest, there really isn't a light that can produce optimal cannabinoids and trichomes on every strain. Some like more light. Some...

Looking for the best LED maker out now

I have experienced TWO so-called "great" companies that packed up and left town in the middle of the night: Area 51 (back in 2013) and Nextlight (just a year or so ago). EVERYBODY raved about both companies. And, to be fair, BOTH the lights I bought are still working perfectly and have...

Looking for the best LED maker out now

These "most powerful"/"most efficient" light discussions get more attention than the plants. Some of these lights are just made to be able to claim bragging rights to power/efficiency. Ironically, the most powerful/most efficient light a few years ago, is already obsolete. Lights are just going...

    The History of Northern Lights

I grew the NL#2 and it was just okay. It has a unique...I'd say almost roasted-peanut aroma. I guess the #5 is the one that everybody decided was the best. Of course, I had to be different and choose the one that was more mysterious....mistake.

    Until I get a loupe....

I'd say at least 50 more days. They look like they are about 3 weeks. 70 days is a MINIMUM, for most modern strains, in my opinion....not all, not ALL....but most!

    White stuff on pot

It's probably from spores that have made it to the moist fabric and stuck there. The moist wood chips and leaves on the ground are prime real estate for mushrooms. I'd just make sure that water is draining well and that the pots are off the ground. If the plant(s) is/are growing well, then if it...

    White stuff on pot

It's an indication that things are VERY wet....which can be harmful to the roots. The mushrooms won't hurt anything, but the overly-wet conditions might cause root rot. You should elevate the fabric pots so that they don't make direct contact with the ground and air can freely circulate around...

Yeah. They are mushrooms. Looks like maybe a turkey tail mushroom or a false turkey tail.

Hey old farts..how many over 50 yrs?

64 in a couple more months. Started growing in the 70's....never got anything right for a long time. Now, I do okay with it.

Can someone tell me about "Fireballs"?

Thanks! Can you tell me how it grows? The two seedlings that I have growing now seem a bit on the small side. Is it a genetically-purple strain by chance?

Can someone tell me about "Fireballs"?

I got 5 freebie Fireballs seeds with my last purchase of Chernobyl (Slymer cut) from Bob's Bitchen Seeds. If anyone else is growing this strain or knows anything about what to expect, then I would sure appreciate it. Thanks.

THE 12-1 Lighting Method (NOT YOUR 18-6)

I used the Gas Lantern Technique on my last grow...kind of to prove a point about light-efficiency. I wanted to use my completely inefficient (by today's standard) 400 watt Metal Halide bulb fixture that I bought in the mid-1980's. I already have done several LED grows and I wanted to compare...

    Seed or clone??????????????

Seeds for me, too. I always look forward to getting that one special cultivar...I usually get some surprises -both good and bad, but, hey, that's gardening, isn't it?
