Opinion on this trim job please :)

Yeah I agree. They look okay. I'd probably trim the leaf tips a little more, but I get into trimming when the time comes and I'm a bit OCD, even though I know I'll be the only one seeing it....Go figure!

    Worms

Oh...and the chemical you will need in order to kill caterpillars is called "BT" or Bacillus thuringensis.

    Worms

The green one is bad. I think it might be a tomato horn worm....or maybe a cabbage looper.... I don't recognize the other one...but if it was me, then I'd be worried. I don't like critters on my plants even if they might be good predators....because they all poop and they all die and leave their...

    Updayday LED thread

It SEEMS like it could be a decent light (I haven't used mine yet) but it's got a more complicated circuit than some other lights. And, if something does go wrong it isn't going to be user-serviceable...and I'm not willing to pack it up and send the whole thing back in IF it were to break. It's...

    420 Science in Austin, Texas

I broke a 14mm HiSi drain bowl and looked online for a replacement. This place had the lowest price so I ordered. Everything went okay and I received the order about a week later...cool. But, when I looked at the HiSi drain bowl they sent, it had no "neck" on it at all and was just the bowl...

    Red light best for budding?

It's just a matter of how fine does one want to split hairs about this stuff? Light manufacturers will argue all day long over 2 micro moles per joule or 2.5 micro moles per joule, but, in the end it's not really going to make ant practical difference because there's such a vast amount of hybrid...

    My weed tastes like shit!

I don't know if this relates to anyone else's experience, but I've grown strains that don't taste good at all until nearly a year of curing. I grew a couple Chemdozers from Archive, that tasted like Vick's vapor rub after a couple months in the jar. I didn't like the taste. After about a year, I...

    Red light best for budding?

Lots of long posts and lots of good information, I'm sure. Here's my take: When I started growing back in the 1970's, I used regular fluorescent shop lights....mainly because it wasn't "suspicious" to own or buy them. The color they put out, as you know, is very blue-heavy. And they are very...

    HPS vs LED

Personally, I can't really believe that "proof". The Sun emits all kinds of UV all day long.

    HPS vs LED

Having said all that, I don't believe that a light will make ditch weed into top shelf weed -regardless of what type of fixture it is.

    HPS vs LED

I addition to all that, if you use an UNSHIELDED MH bulb or a Ceramic Metal Halide bulb, then your plants will get a pretty decent and steady dose of UV.

Why are all oscillating fans garbage?

I bought three Sun Leaves clip-on fans years ago. They are also shit quality, like everything else....BUT, you CAN take them apart to clean them and oil them. I've had mine since ~2013 and they still run okay. They do NOT oscillate. I did buy one of those pricey little AC Infinity oscillating...

    HPS vs LED

Yeah, that's basically all I can do -buy some seeds, hope for a good phenotype to jump out. In terms of grower-ability, there has been an INCREDIBLE increase in knowledge. Even Jorge Cervantes and a bunch of those older guys are already out-scienced. I've been growing a long time, but I never...

The evolution of the lights I have used: 1975 -shop lights (fluorescent) 1985 Hydro Farm 400 watt Metal Halide (unshielded) *long break* 2013 Area 51 Cree red & white LED (125 watts) 201? Timber 400 watt "Frank the Tank" 201? Nextlight Mini 2020 HLG (the red/white, 1/2 fixture one)...

    HPS vs LED

Well, that's me! I'm just a hobbyist who grows a few plants for my own, personal use. I don't really concern myself with what kind of yield I'm getting related to the light. I hardly ever grow the same strain twice, so there would be no way to gauge the yield-comparison based on the type of...

    HPS vs LED

Pretty strong statement to say they are a waste when there are so many documented successful grows that use them. You're basically focusing your preferences on yield. GPW -that's more of an industrial point of view. As a small-time grower, I don't need to concern myself with that. I grow a few...

    HPS vs LED

If I had the ability to design a lighting "system" for growing plants, then I would design it so that the lights come up the way the Sun does. i.e., gradually, and also with a corresponding spectral shift from deep blue, to blue/white, to full spectrum (high noon) and then ending the "day" with...

    HPS vs LED

In MY humble experience, (and being an old head), I believe that LED puts out much more visible light....but it doesn't put out any heat. I believe the plants respond to a light source that is also the heat source. I have gotten great results using both types of lights, but I always have a sense...

CO2 buildup at night in sealed room cause fox tailing?

I spend so much time with my plants during a grow....I am the CO2 generator! :)
