    RDWC Questions

Always pull low as possible from the totes. You can then do the U up and out of the tent through the lower vent hole, as long as the top of the return is lower than the high water mark. (You can even go higher w/ a water bridge, but if the bridge breaks you risk a flood on the tent-side so not...

What is the most important thing you do in your garden to increase yields?

Environment, environment, environment. Keep temps and RH in proper VPD range, move a ton of air inside the room, and precondition air before bringing it into the grow. It's been the single biggest change I've made to increase my yields.

    Hydroponic methods

That dude holding the plant must be 10' tall, huh? Even the tape measure pic shows just over 3 foot, including the roots/netpot/stalk. So just under 3lbs wet. Figure 75-80% loss from drying, that'd be a little over a half pound of dried bud per plant. That'd be decent, but far from the best...

    Bad or Good Film?

One thing to note this is only a mag stirrer. If I was to buy again I'd buy one with an integrated heating element so I don't have to warm the water myself.

    Bad or Good Film?

The best purchase I've made since I switched to Jacks and powdered nutes was the magnetic mixer. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B072K24X5P/ This ensures I am fully dissolved before I dump the concentrate into the actual tank I'm mixing in. I can do 25 gallons worth of nutrients in 200mL of...

    Bad or Good Film?

What mixing order are you using with your Jacks? Are you giving time to settle between adding the parts, or are you adding, mixing, adding, mixing, adding, mixing? If you're leaving the bucket overnight I'd drop an airstone in there and keep it bubbling. Static water leads to stagnant water...

    Hydroponic methods

Here is your exact words... Now re-read what I wrote. You yourself stated that you rediscovered something from 3500 years ago, so what exactly is wrong with my statement? Since you have claimed to discovered the "only one true hydroponic system", that would require is to redefine hydoponics...

    Hydroponic methods

No man, you just don't understand, he's rediscovered something that no-one else has thought of for thousands of years. This is something totally new to all of us and it's so groundbreaking that we're going to redefine hydroponics in the dictionary. That about made me spit out of coffee...

    Accumulator tank pressure??

When I did HPA I ran at 120psi at the accumulator and then used a pressure-reducing valve to set my actual pressure before the solenoids. I found running too close to cutoff caused weird issues, so it was easier to run higher and have that extra pressure buffer.

Pool Shock in Res - Root Rot help

I don't use a little air setup, either. In fact my big res has serious movement - I hate stagnant reservoirs, just another way for bacteria to breed. Here's an older overview of my reservoir, glycol reservoir, and chiller setup. It really sounds like you had other factors that were helping...

Pool Shock in Res - Root Rot help

I think you need to reread what I wrote. We're not using it to supplement nutrients, we're using it as a preventive measure. I don't care if it provides a tertiary nutrient (or that it breaks down into additional calcium), I care that it cleans my reservoir. Are you thinking of Chloramine...

Pool Shock in Res - Root Rot help

This is not a supplement so much as it is a preventive measure for hydro, much in the same way as IPM is a preventive measure against bugs. There are multiple factors that can cause bacteria/algae to bloom in your reservoir -- lack of aeration is one of them. Heat is another. Aeration alone...

Pool Shock in Res - Root Rot help

I run my pool shock solution in all 3 reservoirs, from clone all the way to harvest. I never had good luck with Hydroguard at all...

Pool Shock in Res - Root Rot help

Very good point. A friend was unboxing his Build A Soil kit yesterday and his wife caught a good whiff and just about puked from the stink. Reminded me how much I love my grow smelling nice and clean. (Plus not having to deal with gnats, rot, slime, algae, or any other craziness.)

Pool Shock in Res - Root Rot help

You running DWC once and not getting root rot is not really a good experiment. Without proper precautions in hydro it is not a matter of IF, it's a matter of WHEN you will get root rot. You can get lucky for years, but it only takes one lost crop to realize the benefits of preventative...

    Fuck a water chiller

Agreed. Telling people how to scam a business because you don't know how to use the product is garbage behavior. Going back to the original post. The heat doesn't magically disappear. You are relocating the heat from the water to the air, so the simple solution is to relocate the chiller...

    Fuck a water chiller

If you're just trying to kill everything off in the water just run sterile. A $6 bag of Pool Shock will last you forever.

First time making Bubble Hash - 74G total yield!

For pressing hash I use the triple-bag method. First the hash is loaded into a 25u bag, then rotated and insert into another 25u bag. Rotated again and finally put into a 160u bag. The final bag is used to create a strong structure around the 25u bags to avoid blowouts and also helps create a...

    Inline pump suggestions!! RDWC

I use the Jebao 1585GPH DC pump, been working great non-stop for 3 years. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00SQX5CG0 I run the pump at half-speed using their speed controller. Then when I need to do a reservoir change I can flip a few valves and use the pump at full power to dump the whole...

Sterile vs bennies in warmer temps

I have yet to see any ill effects from dosing the shock (and I don't even measure it any more). I just pop open my jug of concentrate, drop a splash in, and move on. There is no risk of build-up with pool shock since calcium hypochlorite breaks down into oxygen and chlorine, and the chlorine...
