Let's hear from washington and colorado!

It kinda sounds like everyone is "hiding under the bed, waiting for the other shoe to drop". Not really what I expected at all! I compleatly understand about how businesses would be leary about the feds making a move - that's what they do! I just thought that Colorado personal growers would be...

Let's hear from washington and colorado!

So, what's up? How are things developing since the election? How soon until you can actually buy some "Loco Weed" at the local 7-11? I've heard that in Washington State, there is no provision for "Home Growing" (still illegal), but that can be changed by another vote after a 2 year period. As...

Is Extended paper towel germination ok?

I can't really qoute you a precise source, mostly just my own experience. The quicker you plant the seed (once the tap root is visable) the better! You see, the thing is, the longer the taproot gets; the more it is prone to getting damaged. The taproot is a fragile thing and it does much better...

    Dark room veg cycle ?

I'm not sure what you're going on about! It sounds like you are over thinking the process and have it all complicated. 18:6, as you put it, means that the lights are on for 18 hours (that means any and all lights in the area), after 18 hours of "Light" all the lights are turned off for 6 hours...

water not soaking in to soil properly

Like he said "Just a few drops". What also works for me is "spraying" or "misting" the soil surface with a little water (just enough to moisten the surface - wait a minute or two (to let it soak in). Then apply a small watering (a cup, or so), again - let it soak in. After several minutes...

How often do you water with nutes in soil?

If the label says "Every third watering" - I add nutes every watering (at 1/3 strength). Over the "long haul" the plants get the same amount of nutes, without the "Roller Coaster" effect! That's how plants grow in nature.

    Miracle-Gro Perlite

I bought a bag of MG Perlite once (long story!). Anyway, I just rinsed the hell out of it to be sure. I soaked it overnight in a gallon jar (shaking it a few times), then I drained out the water and re-filled with fresh water a few times. End of problem!

    help i have a question.

The clone doen't know (or care) that it came from a plant growing in DWC - it's just another friggin' plant! What you choose to do with it is how it will live it's life. Oops - sorry, I turned things around back-ass-wards!

    What soil do you use?

My basic soil mix is super cheap and the ingredients are available anywhere. 4-Way Mix: 1 part Topsoil (store bought) 1 part Compost 1 part Composted Steer Manure 1 part Perlite

    Is Jack's Nutients organic?

I have no desire to argue about chemistry semantics. The point is that cannabis plants have great difficulty uptaking many organic compounds, as provided directly by organic fertilizers. Your narrow chemistry definition of organic (while correct) is irrelevant, as it doesn't apply to the real...

    Is Jack's Nutients organic?

If this were a forum on chemistry, you would be absolutely correct. But alas, it's not! To an organic "Farmer" the word "organic" has a whole other meaning. Go to the Organic forum and educate yourself about what it means to grow "Organic". You might find a whole new deffinition for the term...

    Is Jack's Nutients organic?

    I502 passed in Washington!

Ever hear of "States Rights"? Now that there are states where it is legal, there is an arena for this to play out in court. Think about it, the Federal Government will have to prove in court that MJ is so friggin' dangerous to the population that maintaining the prohibition on it supercedes the...

    lighting in grow room

That is contrary to everything anyone has ever said on the subject, as far as I know! I wonder what he would say about that today? Surely he wasn't reccomending that as an ideal situation! Would it work? Maybe. Can we do better? Yep!

    lighting in grow room

Because your room is 8' long, the light from a single grow light would have to travel at least 4' just to make it to the far end. If you use 2 smaller lights (spaced properly) the light would only have to travel 2'. That may be obvious, but the important thing to remember about light is "Half...

    photoperiod splitting

You can play with the photoperiod in veg, but not in the flowering stage! For a flowering plant to stay in flower mode it must get it's 12 hours of darkness uninterrupted! Actually, most strains don't require the full 12 hours of darkness in order to stay in flower mode (once they are well...

    veg temp max?

Okay, 78 to about 82 f. is pretty near ideal temperature for "Lights on" - "lights off" temperature should be 10 - 15 degrees cooler. If your max temperature is 85 f., that's not too bad. Higher temperatures don't kill the plants (unless you're talking about crazy-hot). The hotter it gets, the...

    150w closet grow?

All you have to do is snip the two wires that go to the sensor and rejoin the two loose ends with a "wire nut". Oh yeah, make sure it's unplugged before you start!

    veg temp max?

I've grown at, at least, 110 f. Just what are you asking?

Lets talk about growing in 5 gal bags/buckets/containers

No one (not even the OP) mentioned "indoors" or "outdoors". 5 gallon pots are normally just fine for indoor growing - for outdoor growing you may want to look for something bigger. It all depends on how big you're going!
