Ways To Make Soil Less "Hot"?

They're not talking about the "temperature" of the soil. They're talking about the "Nutrient Content". Hot soil is packed with nutrients, perhaps to the point that it could cause nute burn.

    L.S.T tie down ???

I like to use these "Binder Clips". Link below: http://www.officedepot.com/a/products/429431/Office-Depot-Binder-Clips-1-14/ You can get them at Staple's, or Home Depot (or just about anywhere!). They come in all sizes (I like the small ones) and grip real well to the rim of thin, plastic, pots...

    California prop.19 ???

Rather than linking you to "one side or the other" of this polarized issue, I would suggest just stepping back and looking at who has the most to gain and who has the most to loose (depending on the outcome of Prop 19). According to the wording of Prop 19, all the rights, benefits and...

    Why not round?

The parabolic cieling/reflector idea isn't really part of my plan, it was just something I threw out there. But I bet that the footprints of 3 bulbs, under a "Half Domed" parabolic reflector wouldn't look anything like what Serapis shows in post #132. Those look like straight perpendicular...

    Why not round?

Your whole post #132 is the exact reason I propose using a rotating floor - for the light mover effect! Just aim the multiple light footprints where they do the most good (provide the best coverage) and rotate the floor. Problem solved!

    Why not round?

Remember what I said back in post 64? Remember: "You can't teach an old dog new tricks, and you can't teach a dumb dog nothin'!". You also can't have a logical discussion with someone who uses their own negotive opinion as a misguided subterfuge. I think the "dumb dog" analogy fits this...

    Why not round?

A very interesting thread G.J.! I'm in your corner all the way - who gives a flyin' fuck about wasted space or "easy to build"? Anyone that doesn't think it's a good idea - SHOULDN'T BUILD ONE - instead of displaying their ignorance about things that they clearly don't understand. Remember: "You...

hpw do u measure 30% perlite to 3 gallon of soil

So, you have no problem with "Gallons" - but you don't know what a quart is? Okay? A "Quart" is 32 fluid ounces, or a quarter of a gallon, or 946 millileters. It's also 2 pints, if that helps!

How long is "normal" for flowering?

9-12 weeks (more or less), Indicas are faster - Sativas are slower.

    diy mini swamp cooler

Congradulations amigo! I've been on the "Swamp Cooler Bandwagon" for years. It's probably hard for most people who live in "higher humidity areas" (like back East or down South) to realize just how well these simple and inexpensive machines can operate. I live in the "Inland Emire" of Southern...

how do you weigh 1 gallon of soil

Not really. The whole "Imperial" system sucks! Why the hell should a "mile" be 5,280 "feet" it just doesn't make any sense. In the U.S. we adopted the English Imperial System (way back when!), now, even they use the Metric System! I wonder if the London Pubs still serve "Pints", or "1/2 Liters"?

how do you weigh 1 gallon of soil

Oh yeah, I almost forgot. If you still think you need to weigh a gallon of soil, do this: Fill one of your 3 gallon bags with the soil. Then weigh it. Then, devide that weight by 3. But "30% Perlite" is figured by volume, not weight!

how do you weigh 1 gallon of soil

This is the same answer I gave on your other thread! 3 gallons = 12 quarts. 30% of 12 quarts is 3.6 quarts (3.5 is close enough). So, for each "bag" allow 3.5 quarts of Perlite and 8.5 quarts of Soil mix.

hpw do u measure 30% perlite to 3 gallon of soil

Come on people, this ain't Rocket Science! 3 gallons = 12 quarts. 30% of 12 quarts = 3.6 quarts (3.5 quarts is close enough). So, for each bag allow 8.5 quarts of soil mix and 3.5 quarts of Perlite.

Whats the best soil mix i can mix up for my first grow????

Everyone seems to be telling you about their favorite premixed soil, instead of what you are asking for - something you can mix yourself! All the following ingredients are available just about anywhere in the U.S. (all Lowe's, Home Depot, Ace Hardware, etc.) and they are cheap. Try this...

    Proposition 19 CA

Why do you think that would happen? The huge corporations already produce much more of everything than all the little guys put together! But I, and you, and everybody else still have the right to make whatever we want (within reason). All those good strains you talk about are already "out...

Vote NO on prop 19... (great read for anyone that will be voting in november in cali)

The shallowness of the OP's link left me with more questions than answers, mostly because it was all prefabricated bullshit that made very little sense, at all! Please don't insult my intelligence - was I suppoed to follow along and beleive that string of illogical fantasy? The only way you...

    Check this shit out!!!

Independent, commercial, growers are all shitting their pants because of "legal" Wal-Mart or McDonald's type compitition - well, the truth is "Business is , what business is!". McDonald's may sell "Billions" and Wal-Mart may be putting lot's of "Mom and Pop Shops" out of business, but there is...

    Thai Sticks

No man, it's the other way around! The little "Popcorn" buds are wrapped around the stick (like a tiny Shish Kabob Skewer, made of split Bamboo or split MJ branch) and held in place by a tiny thread of "hemp fiber", not twine. It's like "Wrap - wrap, add a bud. Wrap - wrap, add a bud" and so on...
