    Should I bother with a 400W MH???

You can go ahead and flower with an MH, it will give a bit smaller of a yield but some growers prefer the results. But check out this link: https://1000bulbs.com/category/400-watt-high-pressure-sodium-lamps/ 7 - 13 bucks could be money well spent! Trust me, you will gain more than that on...

    Quick Light Question +REP

https://1000bulbs.com/category/150-watt-conversion-high-pressure-sodium-lamps/ Try this link, Eye has been known to make a pretty good bulb. I reckon thier conversion bulbs are pretty good too (if you like that sort of thing).

What do you think of Kellogg's outdoor patio plus

I learned about this stuff shortly after I started mixing my own soil, so I've never really tried it - but! I've heard nothing but good things about it. I get the impression that it is not quite as "hot" as FoxFarm's Ocean Forest (which is probably a good thing). Hopefully someone else will...

Should I repot these vegging mother plants?

Wow, that sucker is bushy! 35 days old - "Proper Job!". You might want to consider a little root pruning while you are at it and have everything exposed. It's a good way to restrict overall size, without the need for taking constant cuttings. Just a thought. It sounds drastic, but it works...

    pots

Normal pots are tapered at the bottom for two reasons: 1. So that they can be stacked inside of each other, when empty, to save space. 2. The tapered sides make it easier to remove the contents (for repotting). 3. That's it - just two reasons!

amount of light vs power input

Yeah, sort of! The math involved with accoustics is rather different from that of grow lights. With accoustics the "exact size" of a room doesn't matter too much. With grow lights, the size of the grow area is "critical" in order to match "output power" and "square feet". As I recall it takes...

    Photoinhibition in MJ?

Yes, there is such a thing as too much light for cannabis. Whether you think of it in terms of "Doing physical damage to the plant" or in terms of "Diminishing Returns" (wasted electricity). There comes a point where adding more light to a given space will not produce proportional benefits in...

    FDD@BLK is way to muck

This is still a free country - so everybody has the right to "fuck with the bull". So why do they cry when they end up with a horn stuck up thier ass? Cry-baby idealists need to take thier lumps and learn a lesson, "Some times, the bull fucks back!".

What happens if you change the light schedule by an hour a night?

That's pretty much the way we all used to do it - "Slow & Easy"! Then we found out, it doesn't really make any difference!

Using chicken wire with "Sea of green"

And "Chicken Wire" is probably the most commonly used material for making one! It may not be the best, but I'm sure it's the most common!

Please Help - Grow Room Design and Light Choices

Questions 1. Should I base my HID bulb wattage choices on 3.5' x 3.5' (entire room size) or 3' x 3' (actual grow area)? Your canopy will spread out beyond your "grow area" and fill the entire 3.5' x 3.5' space, use that as your guideline. 2. Would a 400 watt MH and 430 watt HPS work fine...

    need help with screen design

Put "legs" on your screen, like legs on a table! Put the screen/table over your plants. But trust me, after the plants grow into the screen, you wont be able to move anything! Another way would be to build the screen "like a box" (with the screen as the top) and put your plants into the box...

    Go With Me Here....

Have you thought this through at all? Or are are you just expecting someone else to think for you? If you are thinking about a car battery system with an inverter: 1. How many batteries would you need? 2. "Deep Cell" batteries are expensive, how much would this project cost? 3. How would you...

    hps ballast on 1000bulbs.com

I imagine it would work as well as one of those funcky ballasts you get with a "Security Light" (it may work, but I'm sure it's hell on the bulbs!). That other "Sola" ballast, the $35. one, comes with a capacitor and and a much better transformer!

    ** mythbusters **

What type of lights was your friend using? Was it just a "crispy leaf", or was it a "fried leaf" (really burned)? How, in the world, did it keep from burning a hole, even deeper into the plant? Did you, or your friend, actually see the reflected light concentrating itself into a single small...

CO2 vs Proper Air Exchange Rate

Growers that use supplemental co2 don't exchange the air at a "frantic" rate, there are two main reasons. 1. Adding extra co2 allows the plants to thrive and function at a higher level of metabolism - and at a higher temperature range (around 90 or 95 degrees F.). Therefore, not as much...

gophers in the garden how to get them out

The best thing I know of for gophers is a "Dry mix" of 1/2 regular granulated sugar and 1/2 Plaster of Paris powder. Just pour a cup, or so, into every hole/entry. They love to eat the sugar and you can guess what the Plaster of Paris does!
