150w CMH for a HPS ballast

Yeah! Thier spec sheet clearly calls for a HPS ballast, presumably an "S-55" (ANSI Code). I thought I had really done my research well, on CMH / ballast combinations, because they do seem to be "somewhat irregular" (to put it politely!). But now you have pulled the rug out, from beneath my...

150w CMH for a HPS ballast

A 150 watt CMH bulb will work with two ANSI Code ballasts: Best choice, "M-142" is dedicated to 150 watt Ceramic Metal Halide bulbs. 2nd choice, "M-102/E" is meant for "Pulse Start" 150 watt Metal Halides, should also operate 150 watt CMH bulbs.

180° Scrog Grow - Pic - Is this possible??

Lots of things are possible, that doesn't mean that you should do them! The whole concept of SCROG is to present a flat, even, canopy to the lights most advantageous position.

Soap/surfactant to soil? How much is too much? Other options?

Mix about 4 drops of liquid detergent into a quart spraybottle full of water. 1. Before watering, spray the entire soil surface with the above mixture, making sure the surface is completely and evenly moist. Wait a few minutes, then repeat the spraying. 2. Water slowly (a little at a time, over...

    regional and national forum

Have you tried these blokes? www.uk420.com I really liked thier style about 2 or 3 years ago. But like the reverse of what you said about WalMart, what is available over in the U.K. isn't easy to find over here - so I landed at Rollitup! Plus, I felt like a damn fool half of the time...

    Plant Light Receptors

Ah! I see we're starting to draw a wider audience - Kool! I can't really say from personal experience, but I have thrown the question out there! Most responders said a slower cycle is more preferable, something like 15 minutes - does that make sense? I've never used a light mover, but I'm...

can dogs get high by eating a plant?

Never seen it myself - but I've heard stories! A friend of mine found a totally spaced out racoon just lying there, tits up, close to his 1/2 eatten outdoor buds. I believe it!

Seriously bizarre question for you guys ( organics )

I know piss is high in Nitrogen, and safe to use. I also understand people's reluctance to use it as a nutrient, after all, it is a pretty gross idea! I don't use it myself (not because it's gross, it's just the "unknown element"). Maybe when more information is commonplace I'll "Take a leak...

Trying to find the balance for a variety of strains...

I have always held the position that some different strains have a higher tolerance before they experience "Nute Burn". But basically, thier requirements for nutrients are pretty much the same. I don't have anything to quote on this matter - just my own experience! Not sure if that's what...

    Plant Light Receptors

Okay! First off, a great big fat rhetorical question! How great is it to have someone to actually discuss a different point of view - rather than get into a "shit flinging" argument? You sir, are a gentleman and a scholar!

    Plant Light Receptors

After reading your thread and clicking on some of your sources, I must say, I am favorably impressed. Perhaps there is some hope for the "Advanced Techniques" Forum after all! Yeah! Combining "Normal" red spectrum (660nm, or so) with far red spectrum (730nm, or so), is called the "Emerson...

    Rotating Lights

BAD IDEA! The main thing that kills light bulbs, is turning them "Off & On" all the time. Every time you switch a bulb "On", it is like delivering a punishing "Hammer blow"! The longevity of a bulb is greatly increased by letting it continue to burn, as long as possible.

does my light have to be above the plants?

It may not be the "best set-up", but it should work (so-so!). The leaves should just "flip over" and face the light. It's called "Phototropism" (I think that's how you spell it!).

    Experiment

Here's my prediction: No matter which way the light comes from - the branches will grow upwards and the leaves will face toward the light. Cannabis is a relatively woody plant that naturally grows upward. Tomato plants are a vine that naturally sag along the ground, unless they're held up...

    soil mixture

It's only like a percentage if the recipe totals "10 parts", like your example. Recipes call for "parts" so that you can make whatever sized batch you want - based on how big your "parts" are. You can use whatever sized measuring container you want (1 cup - 5 gal. bucket, or whatever!). But...

in need of some nutrients ut all i got is home depot

Most of the Home Depots I've been in have a pretty decent "Garden Dept.". They should carry a variety of organic, soil, fertilizers there. For example: "Kellogg" organic, all-purpose, fertilizer (4-4-4) - it's made from dried poultry manure, bone meal, feather meal, kelp meal and alfalfa meal...

where can i buy bulk seeds cheap

Grow your own! Out of any normal packet of 10 seeds you are "almost guaranteed" of getting at least 1 breeding pair. That will yield you , at least, hundreds (if not thousands) of seeds. On the other hand, anyone interested in that many seeds is obviousely only interested in the females...

    Soil Mix?

Whethrer or not any soil mix is "good", really depends on an overall stratigy - so we know how you're going to use it. But I'd say it looks good - if I were to change anything, I would use more Perlite!
