NPK - Factoring Silica & pH Down

If it were that simple I wouldn't have felt the need to ask the question! Liquid Silicon and Growth Technology pH Down don't list this information on the labels... if they did, I'd have correctly factored it already

NPK - Factoring Silica & pH Down

Yup... Was a brain fart! I meant potassium silicate (how much does it contribute to potassium in your ratio), and phosphoric acid (contributing to phosphorous content)

NPK - Factoring Silica & pH Down

Hi folks, I've found myself getting really geeky about nutrition. I grow in DWC and have been through swathes of different nutrients and additives, building a library of what works and what doesn't for me. One thing I've realised is that adding pH Down (phosphoric acid), and Liquid Silicon...

    Triple leaf nodes!?

Thanks for the advice - have topped her today and I'm just going to carry on the grow and see what happens. Googled whorled phyllotaxy - didn't know it had a name! She may or may not grow out of it from what I've just read. Nutes is just the flora series... there's no nutrients in the silicon...

    Triple leaf nodes!?

Not sure if I'm using right terms? I meant leaves as opposed to blades on leaves. 4th node has 3 leaf sets... One 7 blade and two 5 blades all from 1 node

    Triple leaf nodes!?

Hi there... had 2 previously unsuccessful DWC attempts... pesky root rot scuppered me! Am using Orca this time and so far so good. This is just a single plant grow. This is day 24 from seed, with RQS Legendary OG. It was a VERY slow starter and sensitive to even a hint too much light. The...

    'Overwatered' in DWC

Thanks... but what worries me is the fact that the nutes aren't doing anything except splashing against some hydroton. It's a tiny seedling vs 24l of water. What possible reason could there be for an upswing above half a point a day? It's certainly not evaporation or changes due to nute uptake

    'Overwatered' in DWC

Does anyone have any thoughts on the ever-creeping pH? I'm wondering if it could be an interaction with whatever plastic the tote is made of...

    'Overwatered' in DWC

Germinated in the rock wool. 2nd leaf pair was pushing out its first blades 7 days after starting germinating. Today is day 10 from seed - 2nd leaf set now has all 3 blades and set 3 is just starting to form. 3 out of 5 blades exist in tiny form right now.

    'Overwatered' in DWC

I just dug away the hydroton and it appears it might be an underwatering issue! Lol... first time for everything with me. Watered through with water from the reservoir. I might do this every other day until I see roots appearing. I could also dilute the res nutes by topping it up a little, given...

    'Overwatered' in DWC

Hi there. This is my 3rd attempt with DWC. First couple of times I lost out to rot. First grow - pump not strong enough. Rot started when I changed to a flat disc air stone and the pump didn't have the pressure to push as much air through as the previous stones. 2nd grow - went too far in the...

best way to protect root rot from the beginning

I tried two grows with bennies and failed. I think there was more to it than temps - my bucket was too small for the amount of air I was throwing through it. The hydroton was constantly soaked as a result. I also discovered some mould in the bottom of the spray bottle I was using for foliar...

    Germinqtion woes

Cheers guys... I've obviously been getting crap info from somewhere. I read (in a prestigious book) that 90% was essential. So... for next batch, 50% humidity, no dome and straight into substrate .,

    Germinqtion woes

Thanks for all the answers - should have mentioned - I'm using rockwool because these are going into DWC as soon as ready. Having read all the info, I think it's the heat mat to blame. Seeds require 90% humidity (hence the dome), but also require a fresh supply of air (I have a vent which I...

    Germinqtion woes

Hi all. Having real problems germinating at the moment. I only grow one at a time. Firs round was a success. Round 2 have started 4 seeds and not one success. Attempt 1: straight into ph 5.5 rockwool Attempt 2: 14 hour soak in rhizotonic, before planting in rockwool Attempt 3: Fulvic acid soak...

Cheapest, simplest way of managing temps in a single DWC bucket

Read many reviews saying it's suitable for both phases... and I can get ppfd to 1,000 across the whole footprint of the tent with 16" distance when the time's right?
