Hey guys... so I have a P150 (continuous spectrum with 50w veg & 90w bloom). Last grow was my first grow and it went fine... got 3 oz of shit weed and 1 oz of pretty good stuff from autos. Veg was good, but I'm planning on adding 40 watts in bloom.
I have currently purchased...
Both Aptus Startboost & Bloomboost recommend to not let it sit in your reservoir for more than a few days (gets gunky). However, it says nothing about soil and flushing/runoff. Does anyone here use these additives in soil or even coco? Do you have problems?
Seed is Jack 47 Fast. Soil is...
HPS & LED on top (LED heavy for veg, HPS heavy for bloom; but use both throughout the grow) and LED for side lighting.
I think side lighting is where you could get very creative... and I recommend LED because you can use some pretty focused lenses if you build your own.
HPS is an excellent...
Bonza Seeds worked for me, but take I was seemingly accidentally (I confronted them about it) sent an advertisement in the mail a couple of weeks after my order. You know, a brochure with prices on it. All feminized seeds were the strains I ordered and non-hermy feminized. It seems like Herbies...
I have a 2.5x2 and just went through my first grow with two 5 gallon smart pots (fabric). This gives you a lot of soil to work with and enough room on the ground to have some air movement at the base of the plants. Additionally, larger pots let you water/feed less often, so I can go somewhere...
You're having good results? I'm going with the Heavy 16 lineup next time and the flower lineup could use a boost... their "Fire" is insultingly expensive ($4/plant using their schedule and smallest container) and this looks like pretty much the exact same thing.
Just buy a base set from one of the major brands. Most have some form of: Micro, Grow, Bloom (trace elements, veg nutes, flower nutes). The Fox Farms Trio is less than $50 and at least guarantees you getting started in most (all?) soils.
The world of cannabis nutes is a Wild-Wild West of sorts...
70 pint Frigidaire has worked well for me.
They have 30 and 50 pint versions as well, the price difference between the 30 and 70 is $60 (Amazon). So even if you just needed the 30 right now, I'd recommend buying the 70 so that you have to empty it less and can use it in a larger area in the...
Agreed. There's no way that white light has enough red and blue, grow lights have a purple tint (red and blue).
Considering there's so much of it, you'll probably be able to grow SOMETHING, but I just see the poor sucker being light starved.
To those still following... I think I found my problem. My tap pH is about 7.8... so I've had to use a lot of pH down to get it to 6.5. My pH down is... you guessed it... phosphoric acid. Add in the flower nutes (when this started to manifest, particularly with the aforementioned Cha Ching) and...
Oh yeah, I totally get space constraints, my only concern (that can be remedied) is the strength of the light. I'm using 150w (90w draw) in 2'x2.5'x4'11" with decent results... couldn't imagine doing it with a bigger light (physical and intensity) in something over two feet shorter is all. If...
Unless I lived on a farm in the middle of nowhere, I can't imagine a grow without a scrubber, but that's obviously just an opinion. Maybe you could get away with something like an air purifier, but why not just invest the time and not have to worry about smell during peak flowering? This is a...
Do you have any suggestions? My "150w" 90w-draw (link here) did phenomenally during veg, but I'm either going to double it (link here) or just add some cheap red:blue led's (red dominant).
I'm hopeful of getting 2-3 oz off of one 150w, 300w should be fine. Watch your height in that grow though. You'll probably need to keep your plants at LEAST 12" below the light... add in soil height and led height/depth... and you've got less than two feet to actually grow. I'm running into a...
Using tubing (exhaust side only for me) is a brilliant way to get rid of the light, I still have a ton of that left over. I use passive intake for my tent, so I'll have the intake end of the cardboard box open (and covered well) with a desk fan blowing straight into it.
Thanks
I have a similar dilemma. I have a small harvest, a single auto that's looking to bring in 40-60g dried, but I have another plant that will take at least 2-3 more weeks.
My current answer is putting a cardboard dry box inside of my grow tent, but the main issue is making it sealed to light (and...
I was going to say this, take a look at what the organic people are adding to their supersoils and bring what you can outside. Learning the 17 or so essential elements would a pretty good starting point (moving onto microbes).

I have a reasonable answer to my problem, that's all that matters. Next grow is a single plant, 2'x2.5' - maybe I can force feed some P into that one.
Tap, 150ish ppm.
Yes, next plant will be photoperiod. I am on a very tight schedule for my first grow, decided to do autos to simplify things; in retrospect, if I knew then what I know now, I could have gotten away with a normal (feminized) plant.
I had read similarly that P toxicity is rarely a problem and started pumping it up with Cha Ching from FF, hence why P toxicity made sense (yes, I neglected to mention in OP).
This plant is about 12" below a continuous spectrum LED.
