    led vs hps

Haha no worries man, I love debating this stuff because it always brings up aspects I've never thought about. With the higher wattage panels the footprint can be kept the same but the intensity increased by narrowing the beam angles. It may only add another 6-12" of good canopy penetration, but...

    led vs hps

While most LEDs do not have the necessary penetration to compete with 1000w HIDs, some companies are coming out with high wattage panels that may be better able to compete. The issue I see with going by a wattage comparison is that to obtain the same yield as a 1000w HPS, two 500w LED panels...

    led vs hps

I hope that not all of your almost 2000 posts are as useless as these two. You have contributed nothing and are part of the reason these threads all end up so trashed.

    led vs hps

Thank you sir. I've used both and LED works best for me, but a friend of mine used to use 2 600w HPS and he dialed it in great for his situation so I've got the benefit of having seen firsthand where each excels. I have to say I agree that LEDs are not yet ready for commercial scale grow...

    hydrogrow penetrator X LED

Can you link or PM the grow tests you've seen with the HSS lights? I've only found two decent journals with them, both on another forum. One had good results, one not as good. I got their 90w and I've been having good results with it so far, just too early into flower for me to say much about...

    led vs hps

If you were to compare an LED setup using high quality panel(s) to an equivalent wattage HID setup the biggest difference will be in heat. Yes, LEDs do creat heat, that's why they have heat sinks and built in fans. They do not create the same amount of heat or direct nearly as much of that heat...

    HSS 90w LED Grow

I've heard good things about prosouce but never tried any of their lights. I actually got mine from gianthydro.com since it's one of their items that gets free shipping. The price is only a bit more same at greners.com too. Other brands that do well are kessil, blackstar, and GLH. I just...

Irish Boys Return Of The Inferno With The Spectra 180's

Yeah, it sucks, just wish they'd be a bit more careful with stuff. And this thing was packed well, snug fit styrofoam all around so they must've been pretty rough to cause this issue with it.

Irish Boys Return Of The Inferno With The Spectra 180's

No problem, I'm happy to share my good experiences with a company if it may help others. There was a dent in the housing and all the fans on one side aren't working. The fans are on the same side of the fixture as the dent so I'm thinking it got damaged due to rough handling and something came...

Irish Boys Return Of The Inferno With The Spectra 180's

I know this is off topic and if irish would like I will remove it, but just wanted to say that I am extremely impressed by the service from GLH. I ordered a light from Mike and when it arrived today there was an issue with it (pretty sure something must have happened to it during shipping), I...

    HSS 90w LED Grow

Autos seem to be a great way to go perpetual, especially on a small scale. This winter I'm thinking of doing a seed run with some Mi5 seeds I have left, that way I have something for outdoor next year or just to set up a more perpetual thing as well. I was gifted some very nice strains this year...

    HSS 90w LED Grow

Yeah man no worries, I haven't abandoned the grow and I'm gonna try to keep up a bit better on the journal too.

    HSS 90w LED Grow

Yeah the light should do really well for you in that space, just remember that because there aren't any fans on the unit itself you'll want either a bit of extra height above it or a pc fan or two blowing cool air over the top. This will help the unit stay cooler and prolong its life. I'm really...

    HSS 90w LED Grow

They've been doing alright, flowering is going very smoothly so far, unlike my last HPS fiasco. Temps are holding steady at about 82F after switching to just a single 30cfm computer fan for exhaust. I had been using a much louder 4" squirrel cage fan before, but now it is nearly silent and the...

    New Setup, 2nd Time Grower, 2x150watt HPS - G13 ;)

The changes look awesome man! you could also try just putting up cardboard or poster paper behind the blankets. Might also make it easier to manage so you won't have to worry about damaging the blankets.

Since you're planning to use cooltubes anyway, have you considered switching to higher wattage bulbs?

    Toolage 87's Indoor Grow Garden

Unfortunately I don't think that LED is gonna be good for much of anything man. It may be helpful for veg but will have very little penetration and you'll probably see a lot of stretching still. Also, try to tack up some white poster board or something around the sides to keep the light in.

Haha nah, I do it because of height restriction. I LST the plant around the pot so the main stem probably ends up a total of about 2' long but not much vertical growth. I've been using a 150w HPS so penetration has been a limitation for me. The new light I ordered should fix that problem in...

No CO2, I don't think it's the temps though bc they seem happy in veg with those temps. Flowering in 10" pots, think they're 2 gallon? I LST to keep them to around 8-10" tall when they finish. I don't think it's normal fan leaf death, starts at around 3 weeks and by week 6 around 80% of them...

Haha rep doesn't mean anything to me. I've been noticing that as my plants get later into flower they start losing a lot of fan leaves. This only seems to happen when I grow larger ones, did autos and didn't have the problem. I'm not really sure what's causing it and was hoping you could help...
