No, you need to see what the bulb is rated for. There should be a kelvin rating associated with it, either on the packaging or the bulb itself. 5000k and above will work, but 6500k is better.

So although the manufacturer recommended 6" or less in flower, it seems like 8" is giving me the best blending of light without sacrificing too much penetration. I had the light at 10" before and the plants all stretched to keep it 8" away and then stopped stretching and resumed normal growth...

The 90w panel I'm using right now uses 6w diodes with 120 degree lenses. Haven't had a chance to hook it up to a multimeter yet to see the actual draw, but once I do I'll let you know how it turns out.

If you cant manage to get any balls you could try messing with their light schedule till you get some or try using colloidal silver? I'm not sure if using the silver would render all of the product of the grow unsmokable though.

Hmm that's an interesting view on it. I'll give it some thought and let you know if I come up with anything man. Only immediate problems I can see are the possibility of needing a heat sink or external fan to keep the drivers/diodes cool enough and that it may be difficult to protect the pieces...

It isn't an actual 240w draw, think it's more around 140w. A lot of people seem happy with the Blackstar units that I've seen. What kind of light do you have? LEDs are not all built equally man.
