I'm with Xcon on this one. Clones only really need a neutral ph in the medium. You can otherwise use anything within reason to root your clones. The more important factor is the conditions in which the clones are living while trying to root. I.E., keep em warm and moist. .

Sounds like you might need more and/or better light. You have any pics? Double check your lights; the spectrum, wattage, distance from top of plants, etc. Your plant shouldn't really be "leggy". Is it more stem than leaf?

You could just rig up a cardboard box for drying?. Just put a small cpu or duct fan in the bottom to exhaust air, run some string through the top of the box, hang the plants on the string, and put it in a cool dark place.
