We still give them nutrients so whats the difference? We still need to monitor the plants for problems, and If they occur, address them. As long as the plant is getting the nutrition it needs, what does it matter what its planted in?

So has anybody else here actually tried re-using their soil? Keep in mind I don't always get to reclaim a full pot of soil from an expired plant, so occasionally I mix in a little bit of fresh soil to guarantee I have enough soil for every batch of plants. I also throw yellowed/dying leaves...

Did you top the plant at all? In your picture it sort of looks like it, but its hard for me to see? If you top it, it'll grow more like a bush instead of a tree, and you'll have multiple main colas instead of one.

Add cfls with a higher wattage, like 23 or 42. They use more electricity but they'll give you more light. The cfls you are using now look like 13 watts? They don't give off much light, even for one small plant.

If you're running out of room now, I'd trim it back just a little bit, and flower it right away. It'll grow 2-3 times its current size when it flowers.

I've re-used my soil quite often with no adverse effects that I've seen. The only thing that would stop me from re-using it would be if I had a serious bug problem or mold/mildew/disease on the plants. Then I would use new soil.

I bought mine from HTG supply. Be warned though, some people have had bad experiences with that outfit. Me on the other hand, I've placed a few orders with them and have never had a problem. Of course you could probably say that about most any place haha. Good luck :blsmoke:

My grow cab is 21 inches deep, 54 inches wide, and 74 inches tall. I am currently growing scrog, so I don't really need the 74 inches of height, but its there for when I want to flower an old mom or two. I made the cab 54 wide so that I can run my filter/light/exhaust as straight as possible...

Your autos will still work under flouros, yes. Its not the light schedule or type of light that influences the autoflower as much as its genetics. It'll flower when it wants to, under whatever light you have, as long as its the right spectrum of light.

I agree. I used paper towel method before, but now I just put them in soil, then water, keep it warm and moist, and wait for signs of life. I try to emulate nature that way ;)

I've never grown an auto strain. That being said, I think most autos don't grow very big, so I'd *guess* around 3 months, start to finish? I'm sure it also depends on the genetics also. Some may start to flower earlier than others. Someone with experience with auto's needs to chime it.....

What color temp are those bulbs? Make sure they are 6500k or 2700k, or a mix of both. If the color temp is 3500-5000k the bulbs will be mostly useless. And the more the merrier! :blsmoke:

I usually put my sprouted seeds right in veg. I also try to keep my temps on the warm side, like low 80s, that helps them a lot also. I wouldn't give them any nutes for probably close to a month, not until they are around 8-10 inches tall.

You should be fine as long as your light isn't too close to them. Probably a good 20-24 inches above them should be fine, and you can lower it once they get bigger.
