I agree, the question is what's too much light. I think the threshold is a lot higher than most people think. A little bit of light coming through the cracks won't cause a hermie. Screwing up your timing and having your 1000w HID on at the wrong time is very different.

First you should cut 2/3-/3/4 off the ends of all the leaves. You don't need a lot of photosynthesis now. The leaves respire O2 and H2O. Without roots the plants can't take up enough water to stay turgid when the leaves are that big. I use rockwool and keep them soaked. I know, supposed to be...
