After taking a clone, I veg for 3 weeks. They get to about a foot tall and then I flip. This seems to be my method that works best for me.

Harras, sound like an ignitor, I recomend upgrading to an electronic or digital ballast. They are allmost trouble free and those magnetics are now just about obsolete.

Just keep using the HPS bulb, it will veg those plant just as well as the MH. Its hard to actually see a significant advantage when using MH bulbs in veg stage. I think its just ppls preference.

That is more then likely an irritant due to the very small needles on the leafs. Not an allergic reaction.
