i agree that many people do have overwatering issues. but, this is almost always caused by compacted soils. if the roots have breathing room, they can be saturated at all times (ie, hydro). however, cheap dirts, manure... these things will get very dense in a matter of weeks if not cut with perlite.

that's not true. the roots know where the water line is, and spread horizontally putting feeders down into the "res". i do batches of 100 seeds at a time, and never water the pots. i just fill a tray full of nutes and let them soak it up for a week. when the pan is nearly dry, i fill it back...

50/50 perlite/dirt is a good mix. just remember to water regularly (at least every two days) until roots extend into the wetter soil. after tips are down, the marsh will act as a reservoir, the soil will wick up some of that moisture as well. good luck! :)

gh will almost always buffer to 6.0. i haven't checked or altered ph in over 3 years :p.

you can't. some feel that seeds have a predisposition for gender. others feel that gender is result of conditions. i think both. seeds are predisposed, but gender can be altered by environment. there is no fool proof way to get 100% females without cloning. hope this helps :)

tsp per gallon 1-1-1 starts 3-2-1 veg 2-2-2 transition to flower (for bushes) 1-2-3 flower cal/mag and hammerhead are great sups added to the basic 3 part.

i'd let it root to the ground. sounds like a good place for au naturale growing.

lol. if the ground is always wet, just cut out the bottom of your buckets/pots, and fill with dirt on the ground. roots will seek out the water, and you'll never have to worry about watering them. or, yes, you can dig a small basin, the pots can sit in water as long as the soil is not compact...

dry and grind, then make butter.

24-8-16 all purpose is great in veg. mg nutes suck for flower and will leave residual tastes if not halted two weeks before chopping. pot specific nutes are much much better, i highly recommend you find a hydro shop :)

any powder will work. i prefer rootone over that shultz stuff.... imo, better results. yes, you can plant in dirt. you can plant in rocks in a aero cloner. you can root in a piece of sponge even :p. lol strike rate is not so much the powder as it is everything else combined. cut your clones...

that's the answer, and the main cause right there. the pc's are using approximately 6x more power than your grow :p. blame it on the techno gear! "fuck off, i play video games!" :mrgreen:

also remember that the only time you have issues with the power company is when you don't pay your bill or steal power ;)

if you're under 5kw, i doubt very seriously you'd EVER have any type of problem. keep in mind, most window ac units are 600+w, all space heaters are 1500w+, and a dryer uses the equivalent of 2kw for 12 hours on just one cycle. unless you have a HUGE spike, don't worry. if you have any...
