I asked a similar question a couple of days ago. One reply said it would reduce yield. Somebody else said it might make plants go hermaphrodite.

If you are growing outdoors and you aren't paricularly concerned with how tall the plants get, is there any advantage to LST, or Topping? I've seen a couple posts that swear you get higher yield. Seems to me that letting the plant grow naturally would give higher yield.

I just picked up some 5 gallon plastic pails at Lowe's Home Improvement for $2.34 ea. Drill some holes in the bottom and you good to go. Can't find any 5 gallon flower pots that cheap. They're light gray, gonna take some black and green spray paint and do a leaf camo pattern on them.

I hear that. I don't have a lot of experience, I've only purchased seeds online once before, and I got some femized auto flower AK-48. 4 out of 5 germinated and they were all female. I've sent Alice a message and I'm hoping they will send me some extras for the one that didn't germinate.

Thanks to all for the information. Like I said, these were free seeds so they may be crap anyway. I'm mostly going to stick with the autoflowers indoors, but I figured I could do these free seeds outside "guerilla" I guess I'll just do the extra work and haul them all into the woods...

OK, thanks for the info. I still may do 12/12 for a while and then re-veg. I really don't want to haul all of that potting soil into the woods. I wonder how much it would decrease the yield?

I hope someone can give me some direction here. I completed my first grow recently indoors with femized autoflowering seeds. This seemed the most idiot-proof option for me. The seedbank sent me 8 free seeds a strain called cheese-wreck, a cross between big buddah cheese and train wreck...

I don't mean to highjack your thread, but I have a quick question. If you start plants under lights to transplant outdoors, will an 18/6 light cycle show sex if you have straight run seeds. No need to transplant males. Or, should you start 12/12 so they will show sex faster? Thanks
