The last thing you need is for your males to pollinate your females if you already have 500 seeds lol. I'm guessing your friend stored up random amounts of bag seed untill he got to 500. Seeds don't need to be pollinated they either end up a male or a female plant in the middle of their life...

what's the wattage of the cfls? And also what spectrum are you using? Soft light or day light bulbs?

You honestly can't go by the hairs on the plant. You should go by the trichomes and also what kind of high your looking for. Not to mention pics would be great. Since white widow is an idica im guessing you want to get that stoned high, if so your plant may not be ready yet till we see some pics.
