I want to be your apprentice! or How to start in the cannabis industry

I wanted to start a conversation about the cannabis industry and how one might get in at the ground floor...it could easily be a planning thread as much as a 'how i did it' thread and beyond these. Now, if what you're saying is true, wouldn't it be true of any hobby? just do it until you're good...

I want to be your apprentice! or How to start in the cannabis industry

I know how massively impractical this site is with regard to doing things with each other in the non-virtual world, but i thought i'd start a thread about the blossoming (no pun intended) demand for cannabis industry workers. I'm sure i'm not the only one on here interested in taking my growing...

    Soil Recipe Comments WANTED

^^^This is what I thought adding DE to mixes was for, pre-emptive soil care so-to-speak...but, as St0w pointed out, i can just wait and use BTi if f.gnats become a problem and other nasties have other natural fixes that can be utilized should problems present themselves::long and short = DE...

aimming for half a pound how long should i veg

check out the mainlining thread...that might be a way for you to go if you're going for yield. of course, i would expect this particular grow to be a learning experience if you do make an attempt, but try, try again, perfect your craft and you will yield 8 or 16 cola plants with 8-10oz on 'em...

eh, seems to me they're about the same viz. elemental analysis; azomite seems a little richer, they both add silica, which is probably going to be taken care of with my gypsum, but aside from that you're right, its more about where they come from...glacial rocks N. canada (gaia green) or mines...

hmm, well i was thinking about picking up the gaia green glacial rock dust that some folks have talked about but right now i've just got gypsum, greensand, and azomite on hand; what would i ask a quarry for exactly? any particular kind of rock dust? don't think i'm giving anything away by saying...

indeed, thats what i usually do but i've seen a couple recipes using these rooter's mycos with their mixes; sincerely420's easy organics thread comes to mind on that point, but i'm probably not going to need to powder my soil mix; it'd probably be as good to set up a quick ewc+h2O+BSM tea to...

Thanks st0w and deflecto, I won't worry with the DE right now; If fungus gnats become a problem later I'll do the top-dressing with BTI; I'm gonna go ahead with my build plans. I'll use a little test plant before seedlings go in but it'll be cooking for 5-6 weeks before that. Just before i start...

Diatomaceous Disagreement... to add or not to add, that is the question, whether 'tis nobler in the soil to mix, or suffer the stings and bites of outrageous gnat hatches? Shit, also forgot about the epsom salt, i'm either adding 1/2 to 1/3C/cu.ft or top dressing at sign of mag...

thats what i figured DE is for; I'll probably go grab some on the way home from work today, along with gypsum. I got some crab shell meal (no oyster shell available) to mix up a liming agent (crab shell meal, dolomite, and gypsum), and i still need gypsum. i'm thinking this is going to end up...

Word, I feel you on this; i'm going for a balanced approach so perhaps a little less on the amendments and what can be used for nute, enzyme, and mycos teas, and top dressing I'll already have. I guess another route to go would be to layer with FF or Roots the way sub does it, or to just...
