    the HLG-600H thread

I have read a bit about your water cooling system here and there. sounds like quite the machine, and if I had it running as many things as you do, adding some water blocks to cob's wouldnt be the biggest project ever. Do you mind sharing a little info with us a little more about how you came up...

    the HLG-600H thread

those radials seem to do their job pretty well huh. i'v always been amased at the numbers they claim, and people claim to be able to use on them. whats the diameter on the 1825 one? it doesnt look that big for being able to handle 300w. The only downside might be all that hot air fromt he...

nice! where would I find those? I only see three sinks on your site. they all look like passives, and the biggest is 80w. any driver suggestions for that range?

    the HLG-600H thread

since we are on the subject of running them hard, what driver would be a good match for the clu058 1825, that would give you a range starting at 50w(or thereabout) and max out at 140w per cob. could be a one, or two, or more driver per cob setup, but I kind of like the aluminun enclosed...

    the HLG-600H thread

okay so just so we are all clear then COB's are generally unable to be damaged by over voltage? as in they only take what they need. Are the drivers (meanwell specifically) smart enough to not waste the rest of the potential energy (electricity) they are capable of pushing/drawing? or is it...

    the HLG-600H thread

i believe they are actually rated 95.5% efficiency, and knowing meanwell, they probably go even higher most of the time, as the specs they list are always the guaranteed minimum. The highest efficiency of any meanwell driver I am aware of. when your talking about a 630-730w driver, that extra...

75 is a 1.75 is a different driver. Higher amps, lower voltage. it sounds like your looking at the HLG-320h-C-all models sheet @CobKits linked to. from that page Up at the top you need to click -> Report -> HLG320h-C1400 click on that and it should bring up the test report sheet for the 1.4A...

    the HLG-600H thread

agreed, but even the 320 is not always 320w. the 700ma version is 299, and some of the other lower current ones are as well. But at 234v * 1.63A =381.42w so if the A model can really push 1.63 thats damn near 400w. no wonder people are finding more watts than they paid for :)

    the HLG-600H thread

You are right, I suppose there are many single cob driver options, or paralell options, which is really probably a better way to go for these anyways. Might be a turnoff for some diyer's as wiring starts to get more complicated, and dimming must now be done per led, instead of being able to dim...

    the HLG-600H thread

I have been curious about the driver options for this chip as well. There are obviously very few choices right now as far as meanwell goes, but I have notice this tiwce now with suggested drivers. The first example is running 2 058's off an HLG-240-C2100, whic could run them up to 125w each...

Why do some guys wats to still use mono led with cobs?

I was thinking the same thing, in fact I typed up a post almost identical to yours, but my computer crashed before I could post it and I didn't want to retype at that time. I am still curious about this though. Also, how do you get 61% efficiency? I thought 56% at 50w was the highest efficiency.

Why do some guys wats to still use mono led with cobs?

Those are the ones I'm looking for. tapping I can do. do you have Meanwell HLG-240H-C1400B? I have priced this out on cutter for everything for the 5 cob's reflectors solderless mount's and adapters for the reflectors, etc for $55 per set, so $275 and all I would need in addition is the 5...

Why do some guys wats to still use mono led with cobs?

I am looking for probably 5 cxb3590 with the heat sinks holders reflectors and adapters, and a 250 watt 94+ efficient driver to go with them. similar to the to the cutter kit or the 5 cob diy kit from timbergrowlights.com. If your heat sinks you are waiting for are the big wide, long ones that...

do you sell diy kits or something?

Why do some guys wats to still use mono led with cobs?

yes Wouldnt that make it more like 1200 µmols/m²s? how man µmols does one diode put out at 50w? Thanks, when will you have the kits in stock again? also, how long to ship to the west coast of USA? Does anyone have experience with timbergrowlights.com for either a diy kit like cutter has...

Why do some guys wats to still use mono led with cobs?

i see. made by cutter I guess. Could you comment on how many 3590's would be appropriate for a 5'x2'2" space. I was going to make it 2 wide and 3 long, but the more I read, it seems like that might be overkill. Is it correct that these produce around 260 µmol at 50w peak efficiency? or is...

Why do some guys wats to still use mono led with cobs?

Thanks @DankaDank Anyone have experience dealing with http://timbergrowlights.com/ ? They have similar diy kits to cutter. I see they are a RIU advertiser, which is a good sign, but I would still like to hear from people who have ordered from them before. Also I am curious what kind of...

All BS set aside CMH yields

uhh you know the hps is the one on the left right?... the cmh has a much whiter color of light so even though they are not lableled, it is easy to tell. Assuming you know that, what is it you like about the looks of the hps more? just curious
