C99 and Pure Gooey DWC SCROG

Nice, thanks. Looked into it and I'm pretty sure I'll be getting some. Did you get the pineapple and the mango pheno with the 10 pack?

    Safe Adhesives?

Another vote for hot glue. Perfectly safe, non toxic, Heat activated, no solvents. Great stuff. I dunno how I would have built my grow setup without it.

DWC Root Slime Cure aka How to Breed Beneficial Microbes

Great thread Heisenberg. You've helped many people. I'm wondering what you think of the Technaflora lineup of nutrients? I'm currently using the "recipe for success" Though the "pure vida" lineup is a fully organic regime made for hydro, looks interesting too. The recipe for success has been...

C99 and Pure Gooey DWC SCROG

Funny I just read the C99 story somewhere else today, so I knew exactly what you ment with C88! I'm really trying to figure out another strain.. I'd like something very tropical and fruity. C99 would seem to be great, but can't find it anywhere. I guess you have to try the auction places? I...

    PPM Probs need advice

I use the recipe for success with great success. You're not supposed to use root 66 with the other nutes at the same time. Only supposed to use it for 3-4 days in your bubble or aero cloner after you have a bit of a root system. If your ppm is that high after following the recipe (which calls...

    Adding air!

I just drilled a hole slightly smaller than the tubing and pushed it in.. no leaks. If it hadn't have fit so well, I would used my usual non-toxic around plant adhesive.. hot glue!

    Adding air!

I can see how that would help too bird. I just used some hot glue to secure mine to the bottom, because it's easy and non-toxic. I noticed in my veg buckets the roots like to eat the stones if they aren't secure. You should give the accumulator/silencer trick a try! I'm looking forward to...

    Adding air!

I rent out my basement suite, grow is upstairs in pantry type room by the kitchen, it's stealthed out, a fake wall and a shelf close up air tight with magnets and weather stripping over everything. Vibration from the air pumping in the bottom of the bucket was vibrating the floor and you could...

    Adding air!

Reporting back. I used a different bottle. A 500ml bottle of empty nutes. Just one of those round black cylindrical bottles. I gave it a healthy wraping of duct tape so the sides couldn't expand as much, I then wrapped the entire thing in a good layer of cardboard. Drill hole in lid, drill hole...

    Adding air!

Thanks dude. I just tried my accumulator trick. I just used a sturdy plastic bottle with a hole in each end and ran the air through it. What a difference!!! I can't even believe it.. all the vibration is gone. Everything was vibrating.. the buckets.. the floor.. it was all coming through the...

Hydroton - Noob Question - Need Rockwool/Rapid Rooter??

I've tried both, and both methods work fine. One thing I did notice though, leaving the clones in the peat pellets, was that my stalks got ridiculously thick. I dunno if that's because as the peat pellet disintegrated the plant was able to absorb the silica naturally in it? None have been as...

    Adding air!

Took out my AK-47 from seed, first real harvest ever :) Drying now, she looks delicious. No more dirt for me though, only grew 2 in dirt before I made the switch. Now I'm learning the ways of the DWC, I had some old dual output 7000CC/min air pumps, they weren't cutting it, and I needed more...

    Welcome to ODWC

Yes, all connected to the same res. Well, there are 2 resevoirs, the bud res is brown, with 2 plants hooked up to it, soon to be 3 and then 4. Veg cab res is the black bucket. It's really simple, just pump water into each bucket from the res, and then drill a drain hole in each bucket where you...

Feed and overflow drain in my bud closet and veg cab.

    Welcome to ODWC

Overflow DWC. My take on a recirculating DWC system where buckets can be placed at different heights to accomodate different strains or plants at different stages to keep your canopy even. I also wasn't into using a float valve to control my water level, I wanted more simple. The level is self...

The Official Dwc Cooler Club - Any Kind of Cooler Res

I've heard the opposite.. but I've also heard that PVC solvent glue is bad.. wich is totally untrue.. used in drinking water lines all time, as is copper and aluminum. One goof probably didn't let it cure properly before flooding his system or something and started a whole myth about it. It's...

The Official Dwc Cooler Club - Any Kind of Cooler Res

You would have to have it go in under the water level or you'd lose efficiency cooling the air. A threaded piece of aluminum with a gasket and and a threaded collar, just like the bulkhead fittings used for DWC, would be best. If not push it through and load it up with silicone. If you don't...

The Official Dwc Cooler Club - Any Kind of Cooler Res

Drill a hole through the cooler, mount the peltier on the outside, heatsink on the hotside facing out, attach aluminum pipe to cold side of peltier going through hole into cooler. Seal it up and you're good. You can get 50W peltiers on ebay for a few dollars each. Some reused PC heatsink/fans...

The Official Dwc Cooler Club - Any Kind of Cooler Res

I've thought about using peltier devices as well when summer comes around. There's always heat created when you cool, whether you do it through a peltier device or phase change with a compressor/evaporator like a mini fridge. A peltier will be much more simple, though not quite as efficient. A...

First dwc small scale need some help Pics

I plan to make a little DIY thread about the ODWC with some pics. I did it kind of by accident. I thought that's the way RDWC was. I only realized after I had built my system that it was different from the normal RDWC. I made it the way I did because I have a hobbyist grow cab/closet and I grow...
