    How's it looking? Harvest soon?

Aren't amber trichomes bad, like an overripe fruit?

    How's it looking? Harvest soon?

Should I take watering into consideration when I harvest? Does it make more sense to let the plant dry out the soil a bit, since the plan is to dry out the whole plant anyway?

    How's it looking? Harvest soon?

It didn't taste harsh, but it also didn't taste like I was expecting. I was pretty sure I didn't like the unusual floral/fruity flavor until I was able to place it as "mango," and now it's not so weird. But still a little weird. I can't wait for it to cure so I can see what it develops into.

    New grow. Shed your light!!!

Suggestions and a question! I'm going to echo the others in suggesting you start by putting your strongest lights above the plants so they know which way is up. I think you should save your smaller lights for bloom and trade them out for 2700k-3000k white bulbs. Also, FWIW, I think 6000k-6300k...

First grow soil questions - Coast of Maine Stonington Platinum

I don't have a lot of (cannabis) growing experience under my belt, so I'm hardly an authority, but I don't think you're going to find much difference between high grade soils. I was able to grow a vigorous tent full of plants in Miracle Gro brand dirt, which I chose almost exclusively on the...

Do plants in smaller pots tend to finish faster?

I have two clones right now from the same plant that are visibly different, as in one has pairs of fan leaves et al. with bilateral symmetry at each node, and the other has sets of three leaves that are roughly radial at each node. Same seed, same generation of clone, from the same plant. They...

    How's it looking? Harvest soon?

Tried 150 degrees for 40 minutes. Took a small bud from ~3.5g to 1.5g. Still didn't burn easily, so more drying time or temp needed there. It seems to work, though. I'm going to give it another day, get my space set up for drying and a better pair of clippers, and harvest my first tree tomorrow :D

    Spider mites

Is true, they're not very sturdy. Can basically just drown them with tap water. Still strongly recommend a DE solution with water sprayed onto fan leaves and stems during veg. It gives the leaves a slightly frosted look, the way Tony the Tiger frosts corn flakes. But to the bugs, it's the...

    How's it looking? Harvest soon?

Thanks FF, I'm going to give it a whirl to see if the high is there, even if the flavor won't be without proper drying and curing. Wish me luck!

    How's it looking? Harvest soon?

Can I quick dry a smaller bud to check for doneness? How would I go about that? 200 degrees for 15 minutes or so?

Do plants in smaller pots tend to finish faster?

I'm also wondering if it's a temperature thing. That plant is closer to the outer wall/window in the tent. I know less massive plants in general are more sensitive to cold. Maybe there's contributing factors? I'll report back on how it goes!

    How's it looking? Harvest soon?

Getting close to harvest? Should I wait until there are amber trichomes, or can I chop this when it's mostly cloudy?

Do plants in smaller pots tend to finish faster?

I have two plants of the same strain, one in a 5 gallon, and one in a 2 gallon, and even though they're the same age, the smaller plant's buds are more visibly mature, shot through with far more red. Is it plausible that it is actually going to ripen faster as a consequence of this?

    Co2

Will it help me finally get a girlfriend, too? :p Look, whatever else anyone takes away from this about CO2, it is heavier than the stuff you need to breathe. So if you're using it in a sealed environment, particularly underground, make sure you air it out a little if you're going to be...

    Humidifier shopping.

Well, I don't think I need to know all that about your domestic bunker / water feature, but if it features wooden beams overhead, you can just staple plastic sheeting to them to form a curtain that suits your needs. It should keep most of the humidity on one side, even if you don't do a very...
