If you start with a tank, simple timer and a cheap regulator, you'll only need a controller. With a generator you pretty much have to have a controller.

One of my associates tried to get me to add a mix of coco coir and little bits of rockwool to my mix, I've grown in just coco and perlite, but my results were not that good so I gave up on it, and I hate rockwool. With coco I heard you need to up the Calcium and Magnesium, and rinse it well...

I'd follow this suggestion, unless you really want to spend a lot of money of a controller and generator, that water cooled generator just needs a fresh water line and a place to drain, using a resevoir is optional. The 22A-B or whatever mode you said was exactly what i was talking about...

Sorry for staying off topic kludge but this thread was way off topic about 80 posts ago. O.k. I just don't think 20 gallons of water is appropriate for flushing a 5 gallon pot, maybe your not an idiot, but in an indoor grow with 72 plants under 8 lights, that would mean I would need 1440...

Tobacco is deadly at certain levels is all, I heard about tobacco tinctures in one of the first books on marijuana horticulture, dismissed it as outdated, and figured it might taint the flavor of the herb. I don't spray any insecticide on my plants.

On askew- If you put a pound of ground tobacco in a liter of grain alcohol, let it steep sealed for a week, strain out the tobacco and evaporate the alcohol, your left with a tobacco resin. (Five grams eaten is deadly) Not that anyone would ever poison anyone.
