A 400w hps will be perfect in that space assuming you have the means to keep it cool. A cooltube/air-cooled hood and a 4" fan should keep everything nice and cool.

Your guess is as good as mine. I'd wait for some way to know the pH before blinding adjusting it.

What size tent? The ideal lighting will depend on the tent size and how well you can ventilate it.

Much cheaper to buy a couple 6" to 8" reducers than getting the larger fan. Its up to you and both will work but the cost would make me opt for the 6". Carbon scrubbers are rated for a max CFM, so if your fan is less powerful than that, you'll be good to go.

A bit overkill, IMO. A 6" fan/scrubber on a controller should be plenty for that area.

All the manifolds I own have a 3/8" inlet and 1/4" outlets. You can just run a thicker and longer hose to the manifold and split it inside the bucket.

The res stays at 70 degrees give or take a few degrees. The acidic pH problem only seems to occur in the 5 gal buckets. The pH fluctuates upwards normally in the totes, so I'm kind of stumped. I'm going to cut back the nutes a bit to see if that clears up my problems. I've been upping them...

Thanks, that really helps. I've been trying to keep the pH at the right levels, so I figured it must be something else. I'll try cutting back a bit and see how they do.

I haven't updated with pictures for a while, so I figure the first day of 12/12 is as good a time as any. I just got back from a 5 day vacation and the girls certainly have grown. In preparation for flower, I changed all the reservoirs today and added bloom nutes. EC is about 2.0 all around...

You could grow a few trees or 50 little plants in that space. Its up to you and your growing style. You're too vague anyway. I have no idea what "full growth" means. 8' trees? If you plan on lighting that entire space, you are going to need at least a 600w but I think you'd be better off...

I think you could get away with a 6" but I'd play it safe and use an 8" with a controller. That is a lot of air that needs to be moved and I always figure its better safe than sorry.

I got my 600w at cheaphydroponics.com. Haven't been able to find a better price anywhere.

You can dim the 1000w bulb or use different wattage bulbs with that ballast. You are also going to need a lot more light than a single 1000w in an 8x8 space. Hope you plan on sectioning off the room or getting more lights and ventilation to cool all of them.
