Learning a Lot on First Ever Grow

If I were you I would have a long hard think of ways to make a bigger cab stealthy. You can work wonders with the noise by boxing in and things like that. Perhaps concentrate on concealing the cabinet itself rather than preventing access with a lock. Anyway, all good in your grow, let it...

Growing techniques specific to producing hash

Some of the strains I am growing are renowned as such, for example I have heard blueberry is a particularly good one. However, the process is well under way and is too late to choose a different strain now. I am sure the ones I have will be fine. You mention harvesting at 80% *clear*...

Growing techniques specific to producing hash

Hello RIUers! I am curious about this, and having done a lot of research and coming up confused, I thought I should ask some seasoned growers to get it from the horse's mouth: What, if any, techniques should I employ to increase *hash* yield from a plant? For example.... -does the...

Weirdly shrivelled leaves on one strain

PS I thought each full watering washed all the salts out of coco, and that was kinda the point of it? If that's true, would I be better feed-water-feed-water?

Weirdly shrivelled leaves on one strain

Thanks Alexander this sounds like sound advice. As far as the watering schedule goes, I have been checking the pots - I've also not been watering until runoff as yet, as they are (were) quite small. I think now is the time to ramp up to runoff feedings, so I will follow this advice.

Weirdly shrivelled leaves on one strain

It's super lemon haze so it is sativa dominant, that is correct. The canna guide says to wait until stretch is over or first buds show to switch to bloom nutes, whichever comes first. I will go with that for all my plants, as doing that allows for any variation in genetics. I am also growing...

Learning a Lot on First Ever Grow

Hi there, as someone who is only a few weeks ahead of you on his first grow, your babies are looking very nice and healthy, so from that perspective you are doing everything right - keep it up. You have clearly read lots, and that is a very good thing. I have a few thoughts to lend you before...

    low budget plant is dying

If you enclose your grow with white walls (yep, normal flat white paint) it will reflect a lot more light back from your CFL than if you just leave it uncovered and let your room walls do the job. I would say too, if you get sunny days, let it have some direct sunlight as one or two standard...

Weirdly shrivelled leaves on one strain

Thanks Doc! Has put my mind at ease somewhat. I should mention though, this is one of two SLH plants, the other is showing similar symptoms on the newer leaves. Is it just a slightly mutated set of leaves perhaps? I upped the feed last time to 20ml per 10 litres (the guide says 19) and they...

Weirdly shrivelled leaves on one strain

Hi RIU! I have some strangely shrivelled lower leaves on two of my plants - both the same strain. One is showing them only on the lower leaves (although these were showing the same problem when the affected leaves were the top leaves). The problem seems to be worsening. My gut instinct is...

Cream of the crop Grow - Pics (AUTO FEM)

How old is your seedling? In the fist couple of weeks, in fact until the cotyledons start to wither away, the plant has all it needs from water and its own nutrients. Are you not able to find rockwool plugs where you are? Or coco plugs? It strikes me that another issue that is highly likely...

Cream of the crop Grow - Pics (AUTO FEM)

Disclaimer - I'm no expert, but here is my two cents: You are growing in soil and I reckon it's a little too hot for your plant. Can you transplant into some seed starter soil, or better a medium like rockwool or coco that has nothing in it?

    Compacting / pressing down coco?

Yeah, thank god I didn't blindly follow him on this one. Unfortunately as he was describing what he thought I should do he got both fists and pressed hard on two of the plants' coco. Thank god cannabis is a sturdy, hardy plant eh?!

    Compacting / pressing down coco?

Thanks this is exactly what my thinking was - and why I'm using coco. He's a great guy and grows really well but he's a bit of a loose cannon sometimes!

    Compacting / pressing down coco?

I wasn't going to. That's why I asked here first. I wanted to see if there was anything in what he was saying first. I take it from your response that there isn't, can you elaborate?

    tent + light question

Eleven is WAY too many - do them in batches, you would do better to concentrate on four at a time - that is what the manufacturers of 120cm sq tents suggest. I have the same tent and light as you and I reckon at the very max you can have 6 plants in there - I currently have six - four normal...

    Compacting / pressing down coco?

My friend who grows saw my grow last night and insisted I needed to *press down* on my coco real hard all around the pot to give the roots "something to fight against". This goes against all my (naive) knowledge, which tells me that loose (as naturally loose as it comes) coco is good so the...

    Question about electricity

Thanks guys! As for why I was doing 24/0 not 18/6....there seems to be a raging debate on the internet about this. I don't claim to sit on either side of the fence. I was using 24/0 because it seems there are no actions that cannabis plants undertake in the dark that they dont undertake in...

    Question about electricity

Yeah, but me being a naive noob and not knowing about restrike time meant I may well have misdiagnosed restrike time as a blown fuse - by the time I've gone to the toolbox, got a fuse, unscrewed the plug, fitted the fuse and got it all plugged in again, 15 mins is up ;) I think my 600 watt...
