Think about nature. It's never completely dark, unless you are in a cave. Mary doesn't grow in any caves I know of. Moonlight, if it's brighter then that do some more patching, otherwise a mild glow won't hurt anything

Agreed you just want the top soil damp. Don't let it dry but don't soak it either. Patience is key. Within 5 days. Also raising the humidity will help as well, possibly a small 1 gal humidifier will help.
