I dropped verm a couple of yrs back. Like you said run 100% perlite, but I'd recommend topping the perlite with 1 to 2" of soil. It will keep the light out, keeps the perlite from floating around, and seems to even out the water flow over the full area of the bucket.

I wouldn't do it, the NPK ratios are off, the N is really low in both. and the P is low for bloom. Try Osmocote Plus it can be found in many hardware stores and garden centers. If you want more info on how to use, here's a POST from a couple yrs back

Use Osmocote. It works in soil or in a hempy bucket. Costs me $1.50 / plant full cycle including supplements.

I use one packet per 1/2 gal jar which holds close to 2oz. I also have several small cheap hygrometers, and I burp for a few wks till most of the excess moisture is gone then put in a Boveda packet, and seal the jar, they do keep the humidity at a stable 62%

It should never smell like hay or just cut grass. IME excess nutes still in the medium, lead to this ugly flavor. The last few grows I've followed the keep it at 62% for months and it's been the best smoke I've cured.

I agree with casper, it's a little late to bend her much now. I personally would take the top 3 nodes off, veg until the 2 new mains establish a little, a wk maybe a little more. Un-topped the SLH will easily double in height during stretch. Topping helps reduce stretch when going into flower.

I've cut a major branch off before and exposed it to 12/12 lighting, the plant will still mature and at an accelerated rate. My guess on the rate would be 2 days = 1wk of growth on the plant.
