Does it really matter who's doing what wrong? I'm trying to help you but I can't unless I know what the mix is. Everything dries out at a different rate. If it's a peat based mixture, it will hold water a whole lot longer than something with heavy perlite/vermiculite.

I'd give it a shot if that's your only option. Just be sure you don't have light leaks for flowering, that is the easiest way to make hermies.
