Terra Cotta pots are one of the worst kind of pots you can use for cannabis, they tend to get very hot outdoors. I am not too sure about repotting with a scrog. It doesn't sound like it would be something too gentle on the plant though. Hopefully one of the many experts on this forum will chime in.

It's just people tend to use a lot bigger pots outside. I personally would not go smaller than a 10 gal and even that is pretty small. But to each their own, you'll be fine.
