My clone from a flowering plant

^ I want to grow in real hydro and I can build the whole setup in under 10 minutes. However, monitoring the solution two times a day and changing it every 3 days sounds like a lot of work for me. Good measuring equipment for the pH and the salt concentration tends to be quite expensive too.

My clone from a flowering plant

^ Yeah, I guess you are right. Hempy is considered a type of passive hydro. Would it be more suitable for a beginner than a "real" hydro setup that uses a pump, an airsotne and all that?

My clone from a flowering plant

I guess, I'll just wait another week then. That would make it a full month under 24/0. My soil is really horrible. It's some pine turf stuff that has almost no perlite in it and also gets rock solid when it dries a bit. Will definitely transplant the clone in something more suitable and see how...

My clone from a flowering plant

^ Very interesting. Do you know how long it took the two mutants to go back to vegetation? By the way 12-inch colas sounds quite good to me. My clone's leaflets are needle thin. And that purple stem is quite weird too. Maybe I should try to transplant it in a hempy bucket, just to see if it is...

My clone from a flowering plant

Well, I can't get a new cutting because the plant that I took it from is probably already harvested by the guerilla grower who planted it. And even if the guerilla garden is still there, I see no point in replacing one flowering clone with another flowering clone. Also, I can't grow from seed...

My clone from a flowering plant

@vilify The plant isn't really producing any new buds, but it just grew a few white pistils while some of the older pistils withered. At one point I too wondered if this plant was autoflowering. The mother plant looked too big for an autoflower, though. Still, I don't know what strain it was as...

My clone from a flowering plant

Well, it's been under 24/0 for 3 weeks already now. Should I expect the plant to explode with fast growth any moment? I don't have a veg room, just that DIY grow box that I made right before moving the plant under CFL. Should I keep the 24/0 schedule or should I allow the plant to have some...

My clone from a flowering plant

Hi people, I have one clone which was taken from a flowering mother plant and which was planted directly in soil. The clone was initially kept outside under indirect sunlight for one week. Then I brought it indoor and for the last 3 weeks, it has been living in a quickly made grow box under 24/0...

    Hempy buckets size

Awesome advice, thanks people. Will be aiming for a big first yield.

    Hempy buckets size

Thanks people, I will do as you advised me. I will start my seedling in a small perlite hempy, made out of a solo cup. I will use only water for the first three sets of leaves, then gradually start using a 1/8 nute solution. When the seedling becomes big enough, I will cut the solo cup open and...

    Hempy buckets size

So basically you put the germed seed in a small perlite hempy made out of a solo cup? What about nutrients during that initial and delicate stage? Do you use water only so not to overnute and kill the seedling?

    Hempy buckets size

Yeah, I guess size always does matter. The 2 and 3 gallon containers that you have used would be way too big for my grow box. I will be using 1/2 gallon containers. By the way: can I use soil for starting my seeds until they become healthy seedlings, and then place the seedlings under the tap...

    Hempy buckets size

Awesome. Will be looking forward to seeing the yield results. These plants look like they will be ready for harvest in a week or so, but the microscope knows better.

    Hempy buckets size

That's a nice grow, man! Did you defoliate them from the get go or did you allow them to gather some light for a week or two before removing the leaves?

^ How did your 2l grow turn out? Was it a real DWC hydroponics or was it a hempy bucket?

    Hempy buckets size

Wow, the size of those mother plants is unbelievable for the 2 liter soda bottle containers he used. Yesterday I was at the supermarket looking around for tall and narrow containers that would save me space and I thought of using soda bottles too, but I assumed their volume would be too small...

That bottle is a cool setup, but I have read that roots should be kept in the dark indeed. So far this one looks to be going good, though. The question is: for how long?

    Hempy buckets size

Thanks, I know the principle of the hempy bucket, I was just wondering about the 1 or 2 inches of water on the very bottom. Now I am starting to get the picture - the plant sucks in the water before it can go stale.

    Hempy buckets size

Thank you for your answer. Appreciated! So, my hempy buckets need to be large buckets anyway. Too bad, because space was my main concern and I thought that hempys can save me some space while producing same yields as larger in size soil pots. My box is going to be only 1' x 1' x 3' feet in size...

    Hempy buckets size

People who grow weed in soil know that the larger the pot is, the faster the plant will grow and the bigger it will become. So, using a pot that is as large as possible is recommended. Hempy buckets are said to be more productive than soil pots in terms of speed of growth and final size of the...
