Yes dual hoses will still pull air out of your room. My whole front yard reeks whenever the AC comes on. But I will solve this problem by rerouting the exhaust to my 6"inline that turns on with the AC and then all the stinky stink will go out the chimney with all the other hot/stinky air. If you...

Go with the mini split or the window shaker. Do you gave anywhere to vent on the outside of the room? You could always build a custom box around the AC to exhaust the heat out of your basement.

Use the window AC. They are more efficient and won't suck air out pf your room. I have a dual hose portable and it still sucks out the air in mu room so I had to buy a controller so I wasn't losing all my co2

What size room are you in and how many watts are you running? I have the sentinel evc2 environmental controller. My 12k BTU runs for 20 mins then is off for 20 mins. My rooms 10'x15'x7' with 2 air cooled 1000's and 2 600w in open hoods.

Why are you just going to put them around the light? You should fill up the middle, that's where the best light is.

I have a sentinel evc2 environmental controller with a cap ppm-4 co2 monitor. The room is completly sealed but my dual hose portable ac was sucking out my co2. thats why i had to get the environmental controller. it last about a week now. which is about right for the size room i have.

You could always Y your 2 6" into one 8" line. The Y your 2 4" lines into another 8" line and then Y the 2 8" lines into one single 10" line hooked up to a muffler out pf your window :). Just another idea for you to consider. It would he really easy too.

You are correct about the nickel and dime part...it was 500$a for the AC and 300$ for the controller. I could of got a mini split for that price.

I just bought the sentential evc-2 controller and all my problems are solved. I set it to 83° with a 6°temperature dead band so it goes upon to 89.5° then kicks my co2 off and turns on the AC and 6"inline exhaust on the cieling. It takes 8-10 mins to cool it down to 82.5 then co2 comes back on...
