Volcano all the way. I've used a few different whip type vaporizers, a friend of mine has a whip vape and the portable iOlite. The portable vape is cool but if I had my way, the volcano would be portable because I've never smoked anything I enjoy more than my volcano.

Flushing doesn't have to mean flood the plants, flushing could also be interpreted as giving your plant plain water for it's final week or two of life in order to flush away the remaining nutes to enhance flavor/aroma.

I'd also chime in with if you have the money, I LOVE LED lights for veg. Don't flower with one, however if you have the money and would like an awesome veg light I'd recommend an LED. I use it to veg and can't say enough about it.

Pretty sure it varies from strain to strain man. Each plants needs are different.
