yeah the wood thing sounds suspicious from a taste point of view, but i doubt you've molded ur bud. mold needs oxygen, so it could only have started to develop since you dried it, and in my experience mold ALWAYS looks EXACTLY like mold lol. there would be little white hairs at least somewhere...

yeah next time i will trim i think. i had two weeks of veg. it is VERY overgrown in there, but i wanted to see what would happen with no pruning/lsting or anything. Next run i'll probably aim for a lot fewer branches, trimming them as they come out and pinching to discourage stretch.

just wanted to update my vert closet progress. basically, it is wildly succesful. Im using 600w HPS in a small IKEA closet with one 450 CFM vortex fan venting both the cooltube and the cab. Temps arround 28C +/-3 degrees, water temps at 70 +/-3. Im at day 14 of 12/12 here, and i'm growing...

so i swapped the closet to flwoering arround the 15th, so we are now at day 9 of the 38 day flowering periode for the cascade vert. the plants have gone MAD with growth, and the next time i run this system im going to put in chicken wire to prevent them from growing in towards the light so much...

day 34/12. everything looking great, lots of growth on the verticle plants, i am confident they will be ready for flowering within another week.

day 30/8. the cascade system is looking great, rooting clones and new growth aplenty. it may require a humidifier, cause right now the temps are between 20 and 30 C at about 20% humidity. Im going to run the two closets on 60 day cycles from now on, offset so that i get a harvest every 30 days...

well ive done it, ive built a mini vertical system in a tiny closet, it houses 40 plants and will start a run with some rather unfortunately delapidated clones tommorow. I'll post pics tommorow too, but it's a 4 layer system built with 4' pvc, 10 plants per layer, verticle 600w hps in a cooltube...

when you first cut clones and use jiffy pellets they should be in a humidity tight chamber. this can even be a semi transperent old plastic container, but it must keep in the moisture. apart from that they just need to be soaked when u first put the clones in, after that just mist the clones...

jiffy peat pellets can be transplanted directly into any medium without any worries. you might want to get them into the rockwool blocks before the roots pop out the sides, otherwise i can see you having a hard time planting them into the rockwool cubes without destroying the early root growth...
