    Vermiculite vs Perlite

This might help you decide. https://www.rollitup.org/t/faq-perlite-vermiculite-coco-coir-peat-moss.925906/ It's suppose to hold too much water for coco if that's what you're thinking of using it with.

Exhaust ventilation in an apartment - is this viable?

There's really no way to tell. There could be spaces between the pipes and the bricks that make up the partition walls between apartments. Odor can seep into electrical wiring pipes and out in another apartment. Exhausting up there means you won't know right away when your carbon filter has hit...

Hacking the extortionate brands for a silent EC

Then they need to look up what frictionless means. ;) I usually carry a wad of cash with me when I plan to have stores open something up and show me on the spot. Just pull out the wad and tell them: I'm here to spend money if that does what you say it does. Keep in mind fans get louder under load.

    Drying with silica gel

Silica gel works just fine if you dry it off.

Hacking the extortionate brands for a silent EC

Kudos to their marketing guy! Way to blow smoke! BS no way on Earth anything moving is frictionless. BS sorta... might be true if they cherry picked figures from the best and worse parts of the performance curve. This is about the only thing that's critical. BS. This is true, a lot of...

    Drying with silica gel

Totally doable. You need something like 6~8x the weight of the bud in silica beads though and a fan in whatever box you put them all in. https://www.rollitup.org/t/any-hints-for-drying-in-a-humid-atmosphere.1027760/post-15769415

    Diy cloner?

How long does it take for cuttings to take root in an aero cloner? I've been using straight tap water and net pots and start seeing roots at about 2 weeks.

Save some of that pH 4 solution so you can keep your probe tip wet in storage.

    pH meter upon delivery.

Luck of the draw! My cheap meter reads 5.4, my expensive one reads 5.5. Both were spot on the first time I dipped them in calibration liquid.

Do you use supplemental UVB light?

Also used reptile bulbs and saw no improvement. Currently using 280nm LEDs for UVB in addition to UVA on a DIY fixture. 2x2 area. The datasheet for the LED says 35mw of of UVB output at the levels I'm driving it but with the heat sag its more like 20mw. Timer is on for 1 hour a day spread out...

UV-C to prevent Bud rot and mildew

That pic is me using an earlier version of my UV light to highlight the only case of mold on my buds that I've seen since October 2019. And that bud got it in the drying area, it didn't have mold while it was in the grow area. To me it means there are spores in the air but the grow area doesn't...

    Air pruning pots

That's a fair point. I've had a lot of potted plants that didn't roots circling the bottom of the pot. But what about aeration?

    Air pruning pots

That's simply not true. CO2, hydroponics, monitoring equipment, climate control, lighting just to name a few.
