    Finding a Hidden Stash

Just trying it out- I made coconut oil extract in a crockpot before, and got the idea to add some to my ipm spray as a “soap” (brain not coming up with word I’m looking for…) to help it stick. I figured the plants create the resin as a protective against disease and pests, so may as well add...

    This year's grow

I notice the freebie White Widow and Blueberry packs (Seedsman? Dutch Passion?) I got the same through Seedsman when I ordered Dutch Passion Durban Poison and Kwazulu via World of Seeds. Two BB sprouted but one twisted itself to demise. The one remaining turned out male (showed balls within 4...

    Finding a Hidden Stash

Half-of-a-pound? Must be a coffee can with dense nugs! I found an ounce or so, untrimmed, I had hanging. It was supposed to be temporary, in a low lit corner of my house, while I trimmed other stuff. Must’ve gotten weary from trimming, and forgot about it for a couple months until I just...

    KNF and IMO "Indigenous Microorganisms"

I put in a gravel drive/walk area recently, and as I went to sweep the dust out of the back of my truck, I realized- Hey, this might have good trace minerals. So I grabbed a filter-bag I had used for some fpj and sifted out a solid quart or so. Found this somewhat informative article; can’t...

    KNF and IMO "Indigenous Microorganisms"

I’m right there with ya’. I’ve been mixing soil blends for a couple seasons now and my more recent ones have been a bit more informed. Going to phase-out all my plastic pots (except small sprouters/rooters), and any cloth pots smaller than ten-gallons, so I can really do some nice permaculture...

    KNF and IMO "Indigenous Microorganisms"

Awesomeness. I’ve been gathering humus from my bamboo and redwoods and mixing them with brewer’s spent grain; I had never heard about the box trick! Thanks for the quick how-to. Going to try it.

Anybody ever try cloning their young “tops”?

Update August 12, 2021- Here’s the last of the three, currently!

BIOWEAPON: New Study Reveals Spike Protein in Coronavirus Vaccines Responsible for Adverse Reactions

Any self-directed thinker only needs to read this part in OP’s very first paragraph to know that they are just here to spread fear and not truth. How are “spike proteins” (which better describes the virus itself) in the vaccines transmitting to non-vaccinated people? Through the air? Great!-...

    Oregon Outdoor, 2021

Nice house! There’s this yellow heavy duty screen winter- and UVprotective- mesh cover I’ve used for a breathable, warmth-holding, cover that also helps slow and disperse rain if put over a dome like that. Good for allowing in nightime moisture and keeping plants from getting pummeled during...

    Oregon Outdoor, 2021

Saw this wonder in that other post where we talked about mold resistant strains. Really rooting for you to have found some sort of perennial strain- I would clone or try to seed it, personally. I might have to purchase some of that Ethiopian if you successfully flower that one! I can still...

Best outdoor strains that are mold resistant

I should build one. Good advice! Cool that you studied permaculture. I’m learning it as I apply it in practice, but I’ve read a few chapters ahead of where I am ;)

Best outdoor strains that are mold resistant

Nice, I lived in Stumptown, on that parallel, for over a decade, but am on the Mendo Coast now, in the fog belt. I have friends who let me put plants at their place just a little bit further inland and the difference in climate is considerable. Point being- I really want to breed a strain that...

Best outdoor strains that are mold resistant

Any Ethiopian strains in particular? Unrelated, but I’ve heard Vietnam Black is very resistant, as well. What kind of climate are you in? I can totally appreciate that plant you have there- I kind of want a strain that I can start with the Summer light, and let it veg through Fall where I can...

Best outdoor strains that are mold resistant

I build my own soil mixes from recycled soils and include redwood humus, bamboo humus (and top cover with leaves of those two plants), pumice, and spent mash from a local brewery that’s been composted, plus vegetable plant compost. The KwaZulu and the Durban have the same soil but I’ve noticed...

    Something People Ought to Know

Love it. Thanks for taking the time to write-it-out. I will say that a good compost-tea (oxygenated) or “beer” (ferment) CAN make your plants happy when growing in soil and trying stay organic. If you live near a brewery and/or a seafood market, offer to take some waste from them. Used grains...

    Nutrients for soil grows

I reuse and amend soils differently each time. The base structure was from a local bulk soil place and included a good amount of slow-degrading things like pumice and coco-fiber, mixed with redwood humus, and oddly- shards of glass sometimes! I remix with redwood and bamboo humus from my...

    Nutrients for soil grows

Right? It’s almost like RIU is getting into the data-mining game. Admins- please tell me I’m wrong:rolleyes:

I need help trying to identify strain and breed probability. Can you help?

My guess is good as anyone’s BUT it’s pretty widely acknowledged that Sativas have skinny leaf-fingers and more of a lighter-lime color (usually!), and Indicas have broader, deeper green leaves (typically!) :leaf::D

About to start mainlining. Possible to clone the cutting?

From my experience the “tops”/meristem cuttings grow the best, almost as though from seed. I cloned some tiny ones and they took long to root, but once they did, and I got them happy, they grew far more vigorously than my other clones. Just my experience…
