    Auto headaches

I meant no implication of newb status for ya in my reply, haha, but I still kinda am. Started last year and had 3 good harvests- appreciate this forum greatly! Seems someone always some good info anytime. I like doing mixture of out and in, mostly just for energy savings. Just converted an old...

    Auto headaches

I’m a semi-noob, but researched a bit and am growing my first autos right now (banana kush from pacific seeds); at 5 weeks. I too am using a mix of OF but with half being last years soil I “cooked” in sun under a tarp after adding a generous sprinkle of Mykos, and Sorry not very specific. My...

Fringe benefits of buying from a dispensary

Nice! Good luck- provide updates! Last year I was sitting around my stash table and thinking about how I wanted to try growing from seed (1st year, had clones) and like magic I spotted a seed. Threw it in an old rapid rooter in a six pack with tomatoes and kinda forgot about it honestly, until...

Anybody ever try cloning their young “tops”?

Update: 2/15/‘21 I poured out old water, and warmed some more Brita filtered well-water (ph: 5.5-6) on stove, and dipped the “dry” jar with cuttings into it while the water was comfortably warm (I’d guess around 98F; usually pretty accurate- I make a lot of dough ;)) for just long enough to warm...

Will pollen affect young vegging plants?

Awesome. Love a good “busy” Sativa. Have more to plant and if any males may cross with Durban Poison for a hardier strain that should grow well outdoors in milder areas. That’s why I chose them out of other Sativas. Thanks for the input!

Will pollen affect young vegging plants?

Just a pic for fun of my experimental new setup. Converted old hottub. Temporary transition area for some but will train a few to fill outwards, and build a taller greenhouse over the tub eventually. Great spot that keeps them close and helps save on light and trying to keep them warm in a large...

Will pollen affect young vegging plants?

Also interested in everyone’s advice on pollen storage (hence why I posted in the breeder’s section ). Had a variety of seeds pop up around Jan.11/2021; it is now Feb.18/‘21. Since you are most likely a breeder reading this here’s the details- Ordered/Shipped through Seedsman- Durban...

    One joint plant

It seems pretty special to have balled out so quick, and I’m curious about supposedly femmed-seed males, so yeah I’m interested in keeping it around. I really need to find a good spot for him. I potentially could have just a few more males pop up among the four Freakshows I have or the 2...

    One joint plant

Do you notice anything exceptional or different about feminized seeds? I have a variety of plants from seed all a little over 5 weeks old from sprout- had a feminized Blueberry OG come up that quickly blinged out with balls. First noticed it stretched crazy quick despite same light as the...

    One joint plant

I’ve been tempted to try cloning one of the first two autos I’ve grown for a quick restock while I wait on photoperiods. As a clone shouldn’t it automatically (hehe) have the “party anytime” gene? i opted not to get in the way of their busy life as I don’t want to hurt their yield. Yours...

Anybody ever try cloning their young “tops”?

The length of stem was honestly my biggest worry and why I thought it may be impossible. I tore my rooter plugs down to where the hole is just a little shallow one. 1/4”?- hehe- maybe if I put them end to end... ;) Thanks for the input!

Anybody ever try cloning their young “tops”?

Well, I was already warming up filtered well-water (as opposed to using water from hot-water heater) to soak my rooters in and also wanted to warm up my jar, so went ahead and sterilized with it, too. Used alcohol and/or vinegar at work station. Airstone is a good idea. Would use my aerocloner...

Anybody ever try cloning their young “tops”?

That’s awesome. I was thinking about how the clones would still be young with a whole life of growing ahead of them... Seems like a good way to ensure you have time to work with them. I looked at both Malawi and Meth too as I’m into more stimulating strains that help me work and get creative...

Anybody ever try cloning their young “tops”?

I have a King Cloner (which worked great for germinating my seeds in old (1st generation??) Rapid Rooter plugs I found in my folks old gardening stuff, haha. Not wanting to run it just for three little guys. I did put a folded towel over top to reduce light- it doesn’t seem very intense in person.

Anybody ever try cloning their young “tops”?

Great share, thank you. The lab tech supposes that the way we’ve cultivated strains over years perhaps has affected the conditions it could clone in- the strain I cut is Durban Poison from Dutch Passion Seeds, which is a “land-race” strain, though I’m not sure how that is still true as it’s been...

    Seed-MixedLightGreenhouse-CoastalNorCal-Popped7/7-7/11/21

When I say “light-cycle” I mean the period of time the light is ON so I should probably say light-period instead to be more clear. Though, to be fair I think most would understand I’m not talking about earth-rotation-dependent “days”. Thanks for your feedback regardless!

Anybody ever try cloning their young “tops”?

Thanks, and I’m aware to typically go for lower branches and new starts, but I was topping them anyway and decided to experiment. You may already realize that.

Anybody ever try cloning their young “tops”?

Not sure what you mean- you mean the cut area hardens (I always drop in water immediately after cut to stop air bubbles), or you mean cut where the plant has matured or hardened up a bit? Either of those things go against what I’ve researched and experienced. Maybe I misunderstood or your...

What is the earliest you can take a clone?

I just started an experiment to clone the tops (base of 5th node, with sixth sprouting) of 3 of my plants. I feel bad commenting before fully reading replies on your thread but link here if interested pics of my trial. Will update in a week or so. Hope yours went well? Going to read now...
