Cutting two weeks early then straight water under lights?!

True enough. Cannabis is, however, not a newly found plant with little known about it. Rather, one of the more heavily studied plants in recent history. I'm not trying to discourage any attempts at increasing yield and potency, just giving a relatively well educated hypothesis on what would...

Cutting two weeks early then straight water under lights?!

In short, that's not how plants work. The energy stores in the leaves are miniscule compared to what is in the rootball and stem parts. If it was that easy to increase potency and yield, it would be widely known.

Cutting two weeks early then straight water under lights?!

I mean where would the nutrition for the added potency come from? The buds might be frostier but that would be all water weight. In the situation that you described it could be attributed to the extra growing time or the light hitting different areas after the cuttings were removed.

Cutting two weeks early then straight water under lights?!

Where would the extra potency come from? I could see it working as an extreme flush but the trichomes have to come from somewhere and unless there is some nutrition in the water each nug would start using its energy stores and slowly dying. As you said, the last couple days before harvest or...

Cloning a clone of a clone?

I was purposely trying to exploit drift, taking cuttings from plants that were on the verge of light bleaching and some from plants that were refrigerated throughout their entire lives and given very little light. If you're taking clones from healthy plants under steady and repeated conditions...

Cloning a clone of a clone?

Cloning a clone will eventually cause genetic drift. I was a horticultural sciences major in college and one of my botany experiments was researching the genetic drift of cuttings taken from successive clones. I used coleus as the test plant as it is easy to grow and cuttings root quickly. The...

    Help Needed!!!??

De-leaf so it can focus on bud production? That's the biggest load of rubbish I've ever heard. Try to get a tiny bit of an actual education before listening to Joe Pothead about plant processes. The only time defoliation could be beneficial would be for additional airflow or for more even...

    Advice Please!!!???

I bet you mean 2, 20 watt cfls. So 40 watts total. I recommend that you get 3 times that many lights.

92 day old plant, 25 days into flowering

That plant is pretty leggy. Without knowing what you're using for a medium, it's hard to say. This far into flower, I'd stop anything with nitrogen in it (the first number in case you didn't know) and definitely up the light intensity. You say 220 watt cfls, is that actual wattage or...

    Optimal Planting Density

Try a longer veg, actually fill the space with plant. If you're only covering 70% of the available lighted surface then yields would obviously suffer. Better lights and dialing in your nutes, I can usually hit the 400 g/m2 mark and I only do smaller grows. I put 2 or 3 plants in a cabinet that...

    potency consistency??

I think that would depend upon how well your light penetrating the canopy and how your plant is structured. In my opinion, the best chance for a uniformly potent plant would be a mainlined plant that has good, evenly dense lighting. Sometimes when harvesting, I'll take the top tops and let the...

Cutting two weeks early then straight water under lights?!

I believe that the only way for this to work would be if you had nutrients in the watering solution or if you only did pure water for the last few days before harvest in an attempt at flushing. But, any positive effects brought on by the additional light surface would probably be more than...

    Optimal Planting Density

My numbers would be far less. More like 8 or 9.

Play music for your plants to make them happy

My wife's mother (a 6th grade teacher) has done classroom experiments with negative energy vs positive, just talking mean to a plant vs using a calm and soothing voice. The plants that were bullied consistently under performed when compared to the other plants. With a strong education in...

    How about trimming..dry or wet?

I trim wet, very close to the same time the plant gets cut. Maybe a couple hours in between. Trying to move the buds around dry so you can properly trim the small fan leaves is a real pain in the ass. Chlorophyll will not "leak out" onto the buds and taint the flavor, chlorophyll is present in...

First GrowBox - First Planta (Sugestions - Help)

Unless you plan on repotting again to a larger container, I'd have switched to flower about 2 weeks ago.

    Led light height

I just harvested a random buddha seeds auto from their variety pack and previously ran a couple of photo period plants on the galaxy hydro 300. I set it and haven't moved it yet. If plants get burnt by this light, I don't notice it. Decent yields and the light was cheap. All the LEDs are still...

First GrowBox - First Planta (Sugestions - Help)

When you say "other one", I assume you mean that you're running a Metal Halide bulb now and you can switch to a High Pressure Sodium when you switch to flower. you're leaves are still pretty light green. I'd say it's a nitrogen deficiency but it's hard to tell from a pucture. Have you checked...

First GrowBox - First Planta (Sugestions - Help)

Your soil actually looks like composted moss. You could just put a little EWC on top of the soil and water through it every time. Next time try a soil mix of equal parts bagged soil, EWC, and perlite. I was mistaken about the fert, the NPK 3 0 8 indicates nitrogen and potassium buy no...

First GrowBox - First Planta (Sugestions - Help)

Store bought soil can vary greatly. I don't suppose you still have the bag of soil so you can take a picture? Without really knowing what's in the soil it's hard to give accurate advice. BioGrow is a plant food activator so to speak. In laymen terms, biogrow is the chef and the nutes are the...
