    EC and Tap Water

I have been ignoring it for years. I got the PPM meter a few weeks ago. As per my other thread, I'm pretty sure I have Chloride toxicity. For now I will ignore starting PPM (I think that's what the CannaGardening site implies with the term "EC+) and just do weekly flushes.

    EC and Tap Water

I did start by looking at my water quality report. FYI, for anybody that cares, I also have this thread going. https://rollitup.org/t/water-quality-question.1047675/#post-16182163 Pretty much leads me to believe I have Chloride toxicity, but that's another story. The real PPM of my tap...

    Water Quality question

Thanks for the link - just dropped that site into the favs folder. The part you quoted wasn't very useful, but I know you meant well. The next section was very enlightening. Too much chloride on garden plants, such as those grown by the poolside, will result in the same symptoms as salt...

    Water Quality question

Any thoughts on going with smaller plants? I recently increased plant heights and I wonder if that's just giving the Chloride time to build up???

    Water Quality question

Not concerned about Chlorine - tons of simple solutions to that problem. Chloride OTOH could be the reason I'm getting what appears to be potassium deficiency/lock-out, but can't seem to come up with a solution. I think I've narrowed it down to either the chloride or possibly over/improper...

    Water Quality question

So like my other threads in this forum, doing some research on changing my feeding schedule. Checking water quality reports for my area reveal average PPM for sodium be around 46ppm (I'm sure that's higher during the spring run off, lower the rest of the year). Chloride I find bothersome at...

    EC and Tap Water

So I've decided to start messing with my feeding program. I got an PPM pen (Hanna - uses 500ppm scale). I'm using tap water - no interest in investing time, effort or money in RO. This is in my garage with no plumbing, so hauling water in there only to haul it back out just isn't on my to-do...

    Potassium toxicity in hydro

I wouldn't panic, but when I did hydro if I suspected a nute problem, I would flush and change the rez.

Root rot in Coco Coir. Root Aphids?

You water when the the plant/coco needs water. You can definitely overwater coco by watering daily.

    Different Hydrogen question

Why would you want to pump hydrogen into the bucket???

Root rot in Coco Coir. Root Aphids?

Yes they can recover. OTOH, root rot can also spread....

    Cloth versus plastic pots

I've used both and the results were the same, but I find plastic is easier to work with.

    Trying to save on Nutes

So I should go out and buy some Advanced Nutrients and/or House and Garden.

    Hydroton flood times

Haven't used hydroton in while, but IIRC every 3 hours lights on and then once during lights off worked for me. I used a time that had 15 minute intervals, so the root zone would be flooded for ~20 minutes at a time. I also ran bubbles in the flood tray when the pumps ran. Worked pretty good.

Root rot in Coco Coir. Root Aphids?

Try not watering to run-off. Only feed the plant what it can dr Probably just overwatering or maybe a strain that is prone to root rot.

    Agreed. Diatomaceous Earth works great.
