    Aquaponics- the Dream build.

I had began with about 1500 1"-"3in my 7,500 gal rearing tank but after hawks, raccoons, herons, and snakes I was left with only 250 two years later which grew to be 18"-30"....I believe maximum capacity is 1-2 gal per 1" of fish but you also have to have the correct ratios for your clarifier or...

Can't figure out what this is and it's killing my plants.

Only bad thing about city water is that it has chlorine and detergents...i use h2o2 26% (hydrogen peroxide) this helps get it gas out.

Can't figure out what this is and it's killing my plants.

First guess would be Iron! With out it it doesn't matter how much nutes you put in things like k won't work unless it's working....also check your runoff water...u said u have been using 6.5, if it goes past 7.3-7.8 your iron will become unavailable, look for eddha in the future as it is 100%...

    Aquaponics- the Dream build.

Not sure about the ions and all that? I've heard that it is hard to get an accurate read when using organics, either way it was something for me to go on and my reading from my ppm were the same all through out the 35,000 gal I had...and as far as ph it was right on...I even used paper and...

    Aquaponics- the Dream build.

Soil test kits are extremely unreliable....I use an ec meter that shows ppm and ph...I'm sure you can find one for under $40 and they are well worth it! Takes all the guessing out of the equation...and will save tons of time and $ in the long run...

    Aquaponics- the Dream build.

I used to put a about teaspoon per gallon..not sure what is recommended but I just make sure the ppm is low and the ph isn't too low I have never had a problem with too much, but you may want to look up what is recommended....also I think that 68 for talapia is fine...my water stayed at 68 all...

    Aquaponics- the Dream build.

Talapia are very hardy but I would strongly recommend staying away from them! One female and you have over 500 babies underneath your plants eating your roots! Most farms have males only but they can change too just like our beloved cannabis plant!! Go with koi! They are hardy, unlikely to breed...

    Aquaponics- the Dream build.

Yes high ph is a huge problem with iron it becomes locked out at I believe 7.8 but at 7.3 it starts to become less effective...that's why I recommend using eddha as it is 100% available up to 10ph!!!

    Aquaponics- the Dream build.

Here ya go my 35k gal system, ran it for 3 years with koi talapia tiger prawns and guppies, what would ya like to know? Pics are in my old post! Iron was an issue because of high alkalinity and high ph. Easily corrected with eddha iron (the only iron I trust now!)..also had to supplement...

What is a good organic nute line for begining DWC?

No problem it's a very important question...and so far every plant i have found needs oxygen at its roots....and although leaves take in co2 keep the carbon and release oxygen...they too will take in oxygen in the absence of carbon! From what I have read it will slow growth to only 25% This is...

What is a good organic nute line for begining DWC?

The nutes are not stagnant! One thing I learned about growing in water is the importance of oxygen! As long as you keep the water circulating you will be ok with narrow tanks...if you use wider tanks you will need additional aeration! My pics above are of 5'x40'x20" and 16'x48'x20" there was...

What is a good organic nute line for begining DWC?

They do work well there just isn't a lot of information about it available. Well not for free anyways...you have to wear many hats when your do aquaponics and to many this is a turn off...look up a guy named Dr. Racousky (sp) "the god father of aquaponics"! He specializes in DWC...he has feeding...

What is a good organic nute line for begining DWC?

If you really want to get into organic dwc your basically going to do one of two things 1) A semi sterile environment where you are controlling the strains of bacteria, or 2) you will have an aquaponic system with live plants and animals providing the bacteria naturally that break down nutes. I...

What light to use for flower?

No! So wrong...lol like I said mine is in the middle of my room about 4" into the canopy?

What light to use for flower?

That's what I use! 8,000k and 10,000...most people don't even realize that they can benefit from them...but if you have a good hps then it is unnecessary.....
  16. Buzz Buzzilla

What light to use for flower?

Well I believe the forgetting part for sure, 20" for hps? Try 8"...and as for the t5 yeah i put mine in between the plants so it covers the top and bottom 10-8".....
  17. Buzz Buzzilla

What light to use for flower?

Your t5 will help as long as it has the correct blue spectrums that you absolutely do need...usually only he more pricey HPS bulbs cover the blues that you need rather than just the reds needed for flowering....i use a 600watt hps 2 - 32watt t5 8k and 2 - 40 watt t8 10k

On second thought that is a leaf hopper...never knew they could actually resemble mold!

    help with this bug/worm?

What state are you in? Are you near water also? The what ever it is it seems to be in a nymph stage and that big with out noticeable damage I'd say it's preying on other bugs!
