Bump for any thoughts on ducting....some people say it doesnt matter other say it makes a huge difference. its about an extra $15-$20. Thinking about buying today
Thanks for the answer....do you think a 3x3 would get too cramped with our size of hood and a 16" long carbon filter? I was measuring out the spot in my room I wanted to put the tent and a 4x4 would be kind of a pain even though my room is pretty big, and plus I think it will be a waste of space...
So if I only do 3 plants a 3x3 should be enough room for HPS/ducting/filter/and fan?
And I meant what kind of ducting he was using as in just normal flex ducting from the hardware store or the more expensive stuff...trying to figure out what I wanna get.
Oh I see what you mean, haha that makes sense since I saw some M-KE stuff at home depot for pretty cheap.
I may just get some of the cheap flex ducting for now since I found some for around $15 and I still have a grow tent to buy so funds are a little tight. Or does this shit really not last...
So your saying the M-KE is better than Thermoflo? Its definitely cheaper...and yes I will be using 6" ducting. What do you mean by proper installation? Ill only have 1 or 2 real bends in the ducting if thats what you mean.
How is the space working out for you in the 3x3 tent? I have a 600w as well and am trying to decide on a 3x3 or 4x4 for 3-6 plants.
Also what kind of ducting are you using?
For the many of you using/have used the ducting from Home Depot or similar stores how has it held up and how loud is it?
For those of that have used Thermoflo SR 2000, is it worth the extra money? Is it quieter than the cheap stuff?
Also if anyone has used the insulated ducting from Home Depot...
Pots are 3 gallon so about 10" tall. The hood is only 7" tall but when you add in the ratchet and metal hooks its probably about a foot from where it hangs. So I guess the pots and hood take up 2 feet of space combined....damn plus the distance I need from the top of the canopy to my light...
Im in the market for a grow tent and am trying to figure out what size is going to be best. I have a Sun System Blazer 6" air cooled hood that measures 23" x 20". With the flanges for ducting it measures about 27" long but the actual glass and reflector is only 23" long. Im running a 600w MH/HPS...
Ok thats what I figured since most people have told me GH burns at strengths on the bottle, just wanted to clarify. I dont think Ill ever go over half of what they recommend unless my girls are telling me they need it.
Well here is a recent pick of a couple of my girls:
The 1st is Northern Lights and the 2nd is White Widow. The widow is definitely a little pickier and has been showing some problems on a few leaves but still growing fast so not too worried about it at the moment. The NL on the other hand is...
Looks like overfeeding to me. I grow in hydro and I only give around 1 tsp of each bottle per gallon so if your saying tblsp that seems like a lot. Plus the dark green color and "clawing" of the leaves is classic nitrogen toxicity.
