Seedlings and clones are not likely to produce much odor, so you should be okay with using the closet for this purpose, imo.

You can try gassing them with carbon monoxide. Just attach some tubing to your tailpipe, stick the other end into an entrance to their tunnel system, and run the car for a while. If there are a lot of "entrances" in your yard, you might have to plug some of 'em up for this method to be effective.

I'm curious about that Feliz 250w lamp. Are you using the 6500K version now? How big is your grow space? I'm just wondering if it runs significantly cooler than a 250w hps.
