Thermoelectric wine cooler drying and curing - DIY

I did not secure the dehumidifier in the cooler, it just sits with the pointed ends of the fins in the drip channel at the rear of the cooler. Here’s a pic of the bottom tray cut for the dehumidifier. There are several posts with suggested setttings, but if you are putting freshly harvested...

Thermoelectric wine cooler drying and curing - DIY

I used a neoprene plug from an old cloner, it fits nicely around the cable and seals tight. Hot glue, electrical tape, anything to seal the hole up is better than nothing. Watch silicone as it tends to stink.

I let them stay in the cooler as long as I don’t need more space to dry. If going straight into jars or bags from a quick dry, I would set the target to 58% rh and let it go a couple days settled there, then bag up and throw a hygrometer in a couple jars or bags to spot check after a day or...

Could someone please tell me what's wrong with my plant.

On the first plant pictures, could it be possible it got a bit of light burn as well on the top? The second plant looks close enough to the harvest window and plenty of nice green foliage, I wouldn’t sweat that one just keep up what you’re doing. It looks almost as good as some Chinese...

It’s hump day! Puck is still doing her thing. I think she’s in the harvest window but could still fatten up a bit, I’m going to give her till this weekend and see how she looks. The Malawi and Golden Tiger have both turned on the juice and are filling in, if I can keep them healthy...

Dude your chicken is awesome. Pics would help for the plant issues. Now I’m hungry for some Chinese.

    SIP thread -- (Sub-Irrigated Planter)

In mine if I leave the top uncovered it dries out, when I cover it, the soil stays slightly moist. I used to leave them uncovered but have found it raised my rh quite a bit, so covering them helps with the evaporation and keeps the soil a bit moister on top.

I don’t have a hard formula. For 5 gallon and under a lot of people use something like this https://amzn.to/3ZRzNJD wicking rope. For my 17 gallon sips I have 2 4” net pots as wicks.

Would that be similar to returning a VHS to Blockbuster without rewinding?

I guess that would depend on room temperature. I bag mine up and have an older compressor based wine fridge that I store seeds and bags of bud in, and keep it at 55f with no problems. I don’t know if dropping the temp below that would stop curing but I doubt it.

    Can someone please explain this?

Yes, exactly. I’m growing golden tiger now, which is a cross of two Thai sativas and two Malawi sativas, then crossed to each other, so a hybrid of 4 strains but still 100% sativa.

Oh I know…. She’s not even close. I’ll pull the Puck I have this weekend or early next week, they started flowering the same time. The Malawi will finish somewhere in between. If it all works out, I’ll have something drying from next week to Christmas, with another Indica run I haven’t...

I was looking at the Golden Tiger this morning and one of the seed sacs looked partially opened. Here’s a pic of a seeded bud, I didn’t think of taking a pic until after pulling it off, but you can definitely tell the seeded branches vs the non-seeded. I pollinated her over 5 weeks ago, so...

    Outdoor rotating vertical hydroponic grow

It should be easier indoors I agree. I’m interested to see how it works vs a stacked horizontal nft system.

    Outdoor rotating vertical hydroponic grow

I had them outside for herbs and strawberries. I did use them a couple seasons and they worked, but they just turned manually, no motor, but movement of the sun did most of the work. I was having a hard time keeping an outdoor res clean and cool, so switched to raised beds for most herbs and...

The seedling will catch up, no need for dividers. Bend the bigger plants branches down some to lower the height.

I’ve got my three SIPs going still, they are 17 gallon commander totes on wheels with individual scrog nets and trellis nets made of PVC. I have a journal I keep up with most of the time, I try to post here occasionally. Here’s my Ace Malawi A C&C Puck And an Ace Golden Tiger

Yes, let it stay at 60/60 and cure for a while. Even when it settles for a while at 60%, the centers of the buds hold moisture so it will continue to even out and start curing.

    Your peppers please!

This is a good one, basic and tasty. I pickle my pepperocini peppers with a very similar recipe as well. You can add carrots and/or onion as well. 1 pound fresh jalapeno peppers 2 cups water 2 1/2 cups white vinegar 3 tablespoons sugar 3 tablespoons coarse salt, such as kosher 2 bay leaves 2...
