    Question about cure/dry

If you’re sure your hygrometer is correct and you have buds jarred up at 80% rh you are inviting mold. Around 58-62% rh is where you want to be once jarred or bagged. I would hang them back up for a bit, or at least take them out of the jars and spread them out so they are not clumped together...

It can be a challenging for sure, but it’s been so much fun and worth it. I really just grow for myself and friends, so I don’t need quantity. The Puck will last me until next harvest alone even if these two sativas go forever.

Here’s my hump day update. The Malawi buds are starting to fatten some. Showing some frost as well now. The Golden Tiger is taking her sweet ass time, but finally stopped stretching and started forming up buds, although it is going on week 9 to even start plumping up buds. I think she’s...

That’s normal. If you want to hang dry first no problem, but in a very small enclosed environment the rh is going to go up when packed with bud. 80% is about average, it has to start with the rh of the bud and lower from there. If you were to put the buds in a room at 60% rh and the room...

No, they have very little to no smell unless you open the door.

Yes, although it will kick in less frequently, it will keep everything just right for an excellent cure. Only reason I ever take bud out is when I need to start another harvest.

I leave the dehumidifier running and at 58-60%. The buds will still have some moisture in them, here on the east coast I can leave them in for about 3 months before they fall lower than 58%, I don’t open the door to the cooler often though. If the cooler is in an environment that is below 58%...

Droopy plant dry leaves in coco. Not looking happy.

If you have allowed it to dry out at some point or didn’t get the coco thoroughly wet after transplant the coco could be hydrophobic. You could try getting a shallow bowl or saucer and putting a light nute and water solution in, then put the whole pot in the saucer for 30 minutes. If it soaks...

    2 stems after Cotyledons?!

I’ve had that happen to a Dosidos, it just kind of topped itself from the start, but it didn’t repeat but grew two normal branches from there on until I intentionally topped it again. It grew some great bud, definitely worth watching and seeing what happens.

In short, the reason to slowly drop rh is to keep the dry slow and steady, as well as it keeps the dehumidifier from working too hard and potentially freezing the fins. That only happens when the cooler is packed full with fresh bud. I would let it sit at 60/60 for a while if you can, the...

I can’t imagine the frustration of outdoor growing. It’s been raining for days, just heavy constant dreary mist now, anything I had outdoors would have been shot. I used to be jealous looking at 15’ tall sativas basking in the CA sun, but on the east coast no way, and the more I watch it’s not...

I used a piece of neoprene foam from a aero cloner to plug the hole in mine, but hot glue would work if you have that. The construction foam would work, but will probably go everywhere and I’m not sure if it smells while drying. Silicone works but has that ammonia smell so make sure you have a...

Stronger rooting agent make cloning easier??

I used an aero cloner for a while, but I got inconsistent results, I started using pool shock and that helped a lot but still had issues at times. I now use the root riot plugs and a cloning gel, but I didn’t have the floating tray. I found the root riot plugs fit right in the 1.5” holes of the...

    Should this worry me.

I don’t know if that’s black mold or from bugs, but I would be worried. I agree it doesn’t look anything like overwatering.

Are there a lot of fan leaves in with it? Also were the buds harvested early by any chance? The cooler will not change the way buds smell so much as preserve the terps. How does a bud smell when you take it out and throw it in a grinder? If you have a pic of buds going in the cooler and now...

I don’t think it will be an issue. There was someone a while back that had the same thing, the dehumidifier blowing up rather than forward. You could just put a solid piece of cardboard or something under the shelf above it to redirect the air if it creates some unwanted airflow. As long as...

    SIP’n with Hook Daddy

Week 8 from flip, they are all just chugging along. I haven’t added any amendments to the sativas, just water for the past 4-5 weeks. The Puck got top dressed with a couple handfuls of tomato tone and top watered in with a 1/4 dose of jacks bloom boost for a quick bump in nutes this week, she...
