I have looked into diy freeze driers don’t get me wrong, there’s not an easy way, it’s cheaper to get a harvest right. I’m looking for a great idea though, anyone who knows how to make a diy freeze dryer let me know.

Thank you! Yes I have a large dehydrator and dry lots of the peppers. I also just freeze them, works great but takes space. I’m dying to get a freeze dryer though, I know it’s not the same,a dehydrator vs a freeze dryer

    Your peppers please!

Here’s what I was just saying must be a cross of pepperocini and jalapeño. They have almost no heat though, but bigger than either, so I’m now leaning toward a pepperocini and Anaheim. But to answer your question yes, they mix it up sometimes. The red pepper on top is missing the tip due to...

It’s a beautiful day out, and many of my peppers are just right for harvesting next years seeds, so I’m keeping busy taking turns smoking and picking. A few peppers ready for seeding and spreading out to dry. Now back to work. I have hot sauce to make and brisket to smoke.

First super soil run how did I do?

I use 17 gallon SIPs, and there’s no way I could go without top dressing. What size pots are you using, and are you indoors or out? If you don’t veg long and are running SOG grows it would be fairly easy to do water only. I can’t see growing large plants indoors water only though.

First super soil run how did I do?

I personally amend my soil before each grow, recycling the soil. I don’t use enough to last the entire grow, I will top dress as well throughout the grow. I’m not sure if anyone is trying to make a soil go an entire grow, with small plants it’s very possible I suppose. I read the above as a...

I’d say you’re getting very close, another week or two wouldn’t hurt. Nice looking plants!

    Can someone please explain this?

If I cross a Malawi and a Thai and collect the seeds they’re 50/50, right. Then I run the seeds and pollinate one with a Malawi. The seeds from the second run are 66% Malawi and 33% Thai, round to 70/30. I only used 2 landrace strains.

    SIP’n with Hook Daddy

Week 9 of flower. The Malawi is getting fuller looking, the buds on each main shoot are becoming one giant cola, but you can see from the growth pattern why they are more airy than indicas. The Puck is looking good. I find myself taking pictures above the top trellis net most of the...

First super soil run how did I do?

If you looked at the calculator I pointed you to above, you enter your weight of each amendment and npk value, or any other values, you can use calcium, magnesium and iron, and it will give you the final ratio once mixed. You have to know what you want at the end before you start. You can up...

Thermoelectric wine cooler drying and curing - DIY

Nope, that’s not normal. Make sure it’s not just something in the fan, the baking soda tray vibrating, or it’s not sitting on a solid surface first. Try smacking the side a few times. If that doesn’t work brandish a screwdriver menacingly and recite the saying “E=I x R” 10 times. That is...

First super soil run how did I do?

You would have to research some, most items you should be able to find info on google or your favorite engine. For instance I have never used feather meal, so looked that up and it’s generally 12-0-0 with not much else, so lots of nitrogen, and you have 2 lbs in there. Does it need that much...

    Outdoor rotating vertical hydroponic grow

Wow, that brings back some memories. Here’s 2 towers from one of my first hydro projects, I mainly grew strawberries and herbs, but they worked. I’ll have to watch your progress, I might end up dusting these things off and putting them back into service.

First super soil run how did I do?

I like simple as well. That’s got a lot of ingredients and may be wonderful if mixed properly. If you followed a trusted recipe it should be fine, if you randomly mixed up stuff you had on hand, you may want to grab a calculator.
