    High CRI White LED Chips/Strips

on https://www.led-tech.de/ they have their system live configurator which lets you select from various different led strips/boards/monos ect in different combos so you can see the resulting output. they have some of the thrive strips so you can have a play at mixng spectrums. it would be good...

    High CRI White LED Chips/Strips

yer the 3000k with some 730nm monos on another driver would flower great. terrible efficiency though.

    LED fixtures with added IR?

yep, if leaf surface temps are equal whether that temp is from IR or convection it shouldnt matter. IR warms plant material by directly vibrating the molecules in the plant not the air inbetween the plants. convection warms plant material by vibrating the molecules in the plant but it does it...

    High CRI White LED Chips/Strips

nichia make the optisolis 98cri in 5000k and 3000k if you havent seen them.

    High CRI White LED Chips/Strips

i think the 4000k alone will be fine. i prefer the thrives spectrum over the waveforms, as for still being lacking in 650nm-750nm i think thats about as good as it gets with high cri/broad spectrum whites.

    LED fixtures with added IR?

yer i have seen the same with a very heavy red and far red led crop, that and a bit of a calcium defficiency caused a plant that normally wants to golf ball to go crazy, huge buds but loose and airy and about two times the normal stretch. you honestly wouldnt have believed they were the same plant.

    High CRI White LED Chips/Strips

for cuttings and veg id go with 4000k thrives. i have been meaning to build myself some new vegs lights from the 4000k thrive strips for a while now, this has just reminded me to get my finger out..., im off to look at strip availabilty.

    LED fixtures with added IR?

id like to see hps vs hps but with one of the hps lights with an IR filter added to block all light above say 750nm, with leaf surface temps matched. that woud start to answer a few question i would think. the chatter is correct, there is no doubt that the "standard" led growlight is lacking in...

    LED fixtures with added IR?

as a side note 99% of led lights that have added uv and far red dont use anywhere near enough to have any actual effect.

    LED fixtures with added IR?

as far as i know no led lights contain IR, a few have far red but they are not the same thing. i think the confusion comes from light manufacturers who dont know their arse from their elbow incorrectly calling far red, infra red.

the gavita is an old light now, the mammoth is the better choice by far.

    Air cooled?

i dont disagree with what you say but you dont address what happens to a photon once its absorbed. when a photon of any wavelength hits an object it can do two things its either absorbed or reflected/scattered. if its absorbed then it depends on the composion of the material which has absorbed...

    Air cooled?

so what happens to the photon then? it cant just vanish.

    Air cooled?

if you think about it everytime you go in your growroom or unzip your tent to have a look at your plants, the photons that enter your eyes that lets you see your plants is removing heat from your grow!, hmmm but then the core temp of your body is adding to the heat in the room.... fucking...

    Air cooled?

yer the rabbit hole gets deep real quick. if you think of the extra light produced by a led over a hps, a portion of that extra light that doesnt hit the plant canopy is absorbed by everthing else in the room turning to heat, and the portion of extra light produced by the led over the hps that...

    Air cooled?

yer i think its down to the heat from hps is in IR which is directly heating objects in its path rather than the air between them, where as space heaters ect rely on convection to heat ie they warm the air and then the air transfers the heat to objects in the room. with hps the IR heat is...

Comparing 300w LED lights / Chilled vs Mars Hydro

for making comparisons between lights you can forget about voltage of the strips/pcb's, the voltage figure depends on how the manufacturer wants to lay out the diodes on pcb's. all that means is if mars and chilled are being honest about thier lights efficiency and they are using a similar...

    Anyone wanna talk about leds?

yer like others have said up your temps and feed. led likes temps in the early 80's lights on. 1.2 ec isnt a lot of feed no matter what your irrigation frequency is, but some more detail on how often you water would help

Led just for Veg in a 5x5 tent?

yer and doubt they get it right. the only real way to get true control and full spectrum is diy, but its not cheap and its not very efficient ie multiple drivers and using higher cri broader spectrum whites and less efficient monos to fill the "gaps". probably never. rapids royal puck puck is...
