I just went back and forth on this as I needed a bigger tent than my 2x4. Ultimately I chose 4x4 based on footprint and light cost. With all other things being equal as far as equipment cost, I wanted to get a higher end bar light to fill out my 4x4 instead of getting a cheaper light for a 5x5.

To some degree, but you could take the best diodes and make a bad product. There are plenty of killer lights out there without Samsung 301s and meanwell drivers.

I honestly don't know what to say. Not trying to hate on your setup but that cable does not look safe. You need to insulate each wire after you solder them. Maybe you just didn't post that picture.

Doesn't work for me anymore

So it's been months since these posts. I'm on the edge of my seat hoping to hear how this turned out. Strongly considering this light but would like to know how they dealt with this issue.

Went to order some new strips for a 4x4 build and their website appears to be gone. Hoping for a similar replacement for their photoboost strips.

That's a great idea using the bucket and sump pump. I may need to do that myself.
