The scrog net its all horizontal growth for the most part which doesn't lend well to bud growth below the very top canopy buds (aka shorter colas). The way you are doing training (esp without the net) I wonder if you will get longer and thicker budded colas and maybe more overall weight. Excited...

Did you like the ScroG over the quadline overall or thinking you might go back to your roots haha? Reason I am curious as I scrog and its a pain in the ass. It works but again its a pain in the ass and I fill out a sizeable room but have to walk on my hands and knees to do anything lol.

I have a 13x8 sqft space and was thinking the same thing. I already have a good light setup but when time to upgrade was thinking more light units than just 6. Possibly 8-12. At 12 each light would be covering a 2x4 space.

Very well said. The idea that with better efficiency of the 4x200s to equal the 1k you have 200w less of electricity usage so a cost savings and 200w less of heat which is roughly 628 BTUs. Do you prefer the COB style of lights or bar/qb style for the lets say the 4x200 setup?

Right, age old question of many smaller lights vs bigger coverage lights. My thoughts would be the better ppfd spread would come from multiple smaller lights but there are LEDs now such as the Photontek 1000w CO2 light that have amazing high ppfd coverage. Just the expense vs cheaper COB's etc...

Nope not at all. Just I know most people do not have high enough ceilings to have actually tried both ways in comparison. Guess I am looking for someone to state they have done both so it can help me settle it in my mjnd. Not saying the above have not. Just no one has stated as such.

I hear ya just but throw in some side lighting with good penetration and height and you got a well budded tree. Seems hard to beat.

If I have the ceiling height than is it better for yields to get a powerful HPS or COB led, or Blackdog type LED and penetrate deep into the canopy and grow taller plants or still go wide with the QB or bar style lights and grow wider but shallower plants??? (aka scrog, lollipopping, etc.) Thanks!

No you are spot on and thank you for the help. Will top them and get them corrected and create clones. I am not in this for lanky low yields.

Yeah, if I top and train in my environment and give them extra veg time I can shape them up properly and with my lights reduce the nodal spacing.

Re-veg? They are in veg right now. Also, by twisting em up like a pretzel do you mean LST the bottom and trellis above that? My only concern is the lower growth would need to be lollipopped later due to less exposure so not sure it would matter. Maybe just put the trellis farther down and bend...

Got these clones from a friend and they are almost 2 ft tall with no training done to them yet. He didn't want to risk anything. Obviously left alone I will get Christmas trees and lower yield. Mind you I will veg these for an additional two weeks before flipping so need to get them bush style...

Yeah I ended up getting the generator going and doing just that.
