And I don't necessarily disagree with that sentiment either... But 3K of HPS is going to require almost 20K BTU + Dehuie and inlines to keep the room and hoods. It's choosing where you're going to spend your money, parts or utilities. You're going to reduce your energy consumption significantly...

Something to keep in mind - You don't just get the awesome power and efficiency saving benefits for free. You have to pay in somewhere. It's either front end, or back end, choose which one you want to pay. A quality LED lamp will save you that extra money over the course of a year in energy...

HB's 2nd Run: COB LED + Kessil w/ Grape Stomper OG

I think you're right. I definitely needed to raise my lights. I pulled em up a few inches, and used a little bit of these nutrient spikes my buddy has, as well as the tea I mentioned. I'll get in there today and get another video, but it looks like I was running into a bit of mineral deficiency.

What size pots are you in? Ideally, you should be able to hit about a zip per gallon if you're really dialed in. If you're only in 5's, and only looking at 8 and not dialed in, yeah, 1-1.5lb would be a reasonable estimate.

HB's 2nd Run: COB LED + Kessil w/ Grape Stomper OG

So, after some research, what I'm thinking is that LED is really causing it to eat up the Cal/Mag, and I'm not sure how effective the topdress of Azomite I did at the start of flower was (I've read that it's best to mix it with soil *too late* or bubble it with some tea, which I'm doing). So...

Oyster shell as a calcium source?

In my end game plan, I'll have a closed loop food production system (fish, plants, veggies), what better place to have the fish on hand to make that emulsion and extracts? Lots and lots of work, though. Another thought - When using the rice hulls, I think I have to make different strength...

Oyster shell as a calcium source?

There's a company in Missouri, the guys who do Ricelands Best. They sent me 2 50lb bales as samples, delivered, for free. Their price otherwise was also way reasonable.

A couple thoughts - You're not gaining full utilization of the trellis with such wide spacing. At that point, it's mostly support. Next time, try making smaller squares. I'm at 4in and I even think that's a little much. Lightly weave into the canopy to expose more of the new tips. Otherwise...

Oyster shell as a calcium source?

My soil is a 3 way split, peat/humus/rice hull + amendments, for what it's worth.

HB's 2nd Run: COB LED + Kessil w/ Grape Stomper OG

This is going to sound blasphemous, but I don't have a pH meter. I'll get my hands on one tomorrow, should be able to rent one for a day or borrow from a friend. I'll check around now. How does flushing work in organic soil? Won't I be washing out what I have built up in the SS? Lights come on...

    Electrical help

It reduces load on the circuits. It's always better to run something soft than near capacity, as we've learned with driving LEDs.

    HPS

Because the entire forum one level above, the Indoor Growing forum, is for HPS. This is supposed to be discussion of other lighting techniques, not just the only thing your cousin knew how to grow herb with so you're using it too.

    Veg Lamp design

My understanding was that you wanted a higher ratio of blue in veg, and those higher temps meet that criteria. At the same time, you should have some red in there too. I'm not sure how much red the 5000K actually has, tbh. My T5 has 6 blue and 2 reds in it, and I'm trying to keep a similar...
