    To Decarb or Not?

I wouldn't add any VG, it does not mix with wax/shatter. You can make it stronger by adding more extract or a stronger mix with PG.

HELP!!! Can you make edibles with BHO/Shatter??

I mix wax/shatter with coconut oil, about 1 gram to a tablespoon of coconut oil., and heat to 245° for 25 minutes to decarb (or less time if the bubbling from decarbing stops earlier). Personally, I like 25 doses per gram of wax, either in a baked good or capsule.

    To Decarb or Not?

Vaping will take care of the decarb, so no you do need to. I'm not sure about your second question, is it in reference to fixing an error?

    decarboxylating

Yes the same as nugs, but I would use 3-4 times the weight. Do the extraction first with oil, then decarb the oil. I use 240° for 25 minutes or until it stops making bubbles when stirred.

    spread qwiso thin

The seed mats are a low wattage, uncontrolled heat source. And I have found they do add 10-20° to ambient temperature. Since the alcohol is evaporating, the liquid really doesn't warm up much if at all, until the alcohol is gone. The mat just speeds up the process a bit.

    spread qwiso thin

You can also use a seedling warming mat, they are about 100°F, but don't get the pyrex dish nearly that warm. I assume the evaporation with a fan lowers the solution temperature enough it never really warms much until the ISO is nearly gone.

    spread qwiso thin

I see I was not clear. One ounce of high quality buds yields 4 grams of wax/concentrate. I don't use any heat at all, just a fan for drying. But it is really dry here, 5-15% RH.

    spread qwiso thin

I use the pyrex baking dishes, rectangular, that are about 10" X 14". I have found the amount of QWISO extract that reduces to 3-4 grams ends up in a thin enough film to purge the ISO. High producing buds yield about 4 grams from frozen material. So I use the extract from one oz per baking dish.

Does typical baking temperature(325) degrade thc?

The baking material does not reach the boiling point of water, otherwise there would be no water left in the baked product. I tested this myself with a temperature probe in a batch of brownies baking at 350° for 25 minutes. I am at 6600 feet elevation, water boils at 201° F here. I decarb my...

    Making butter with wax/bho ???????

I use one gram of wax for 25 capsules. If the wax is 80% THC, then each cap is 32mg. Everyone else likes half that amount, although I may take two and some tokes. I do decarb it in the amount of coconut oil that fills the caps. Insofar as making wax vs butter, I tried 11 oz. of small buds and...

Best Portable Electronic Vape for 2015

I had only put the eucalyptol in pure QWISO extract two years ago. Some component(s) of the wax came out of solution, which in retrospect may not have been a problem WRT the THC content. At any rate, I thought it would clog up the wicks in e-vaping so I set it aside. I played with PEG or PG with...

Best Portable Electronic Vape for 2015

Grow Godess, You may be interested in this. A couple of years ago I purchased some eucalyptol food-grade terpine, I thought it might make a good thinner for wax/shatter to turn it into a liquid. It did not work well for that, so it sat untouched. I have been playing with PG, VG and PEG to make...

Best Portable Electronic Vape for 2015

I like the 'Source Orb' V2, dual-coil ceramic bowl. It is sub-ohm, and hits wax/shatter great at 3.2V. I was running it at ~4V, but wanted to cool it down, and found running at 3.2 volts makes the heads last longer. It appears to build up less carbon on the wickless coils and need to be cleaned...

Any legal use and excuse for terp extractors?

I've watched videos of the lavender extraction you mention. I assumed that the only essential oils one would extract are those that are volatile below the boiling point of water. I guess one could do it under pressure to increase the temperature, but that seems like another set of issues to deal...

    New to cooking

Okay, it is officially called a 'cast iron heat diffuser'. Been looking at one on the stove for over 60 years, never heard a name for it. Labeling sounds good...;-)

    New to cooking

I use a cast iron disc, I don't know what it is called but it gives a cooler temperature going to the pan, over the lowest flame on my stove. Upon that I will set a 2 quart sauce pan, once I have brought it up to near temperature, stirring over a flame. I do this with 2 Lbs. For ten I would use...

    Which of these Decarb times/temps?

The higher the temp the faster the decarb. If you go over about 260°, the THC drops off more quickly as it degrades more quickly at higher temps. 250° seems to be a decent trade-off for time vs. temperature.

    New to cooking

Cooking never gets the batter to 200°. Decarbing dry material changes the taste and if I decarb my oil I can watch it decarb, CO2 out-gases, and I can tell when it is done. I can also monitor the actual temperature of the oil.

Anyone have this vape? Source Orb v3

Been using the V2, it is great, love the dual coil atomizers. As far as I can tell, the only difference between V2 and V3 is V2 had ceramic parts replaced with quartz in V3. Can't imagine it works better, just looks different and is unique.

    Which of these Decarb times/temps?

Why would you cook it after you decarb? After decarb it is done, ready for baking/eating.
