    Thermometers, Thermocouples, and Thermal Readings

That's a good point to bring up, that the housing materials for the CXB and Vero vary; it wouldn't make sense for Bridgelux to place the Tc measuring point anywhere besides onto the aluminum case of the LES, as the plastic is merely there for fastening down the entire piece and wires. If any...

    Thermometers, Thermocouples, and Thermal Readings

This article was way easier to trek through in comparison to the previous article you provided. Both are good reads. (From the latter article) "Due to heat-spreading, the heat-flux decreases quickly with increasing distance from the chip surface." It hadn't occurred to me before but the...

IR temp in what sense? Comparisons between both approaches would be good to have. Please share paper, you know I love testing!

    Thermometers, Thermocouples, and Thermal Readings

Although a lengthy endeavor it may prove, it would be ultimately beneficial to all for any individuals to establish credible data entailing which heat sink and fan combos work best for our favorite cobs in different configurations and at various outputs with temperature readings from our digital...

Good points. It's quite funny that something that was initially intended for visual purposes is rapidly turning into something for growing purposes as well. Does anyone know who the forefathers of COB-light growing were? Yeah I figured, it's just that I remember @Greengenes707 mentioning...

@Abiqua History is good for the brain but bad for the heart .... someone once said.... lmao Most likely reasons, yes. It looks like all those companies are selling the same product, minus the article :) music to my ears nonetheless, although I live in a typical American neighborhood where...

Great counterarguments. While I've watched many inventories and stocks from our beloved retailers relating to our hobby/obsession slowly dwindle over weeks at a time, I've never seen any one product drop more than x25 pieces in a given week, including Jerry KB. I'm sure I've missed plenty of...

Referring to the atomic bombs being dropped? I believe you have misread what I wrote, not that dropping bombs on Japan was kick ass but that the USA kicked Japan's ass in WW2, thus prolonging China's future. Since we are now on the topic of dropping bombs, how do you believe the USA could have...

(It's important to point out that there probably wouldn't be a China today if the USA didn't step in during WW2 to dropkick Japan's fascist ass. China may have indeed 'perfected' trading during that time but they hadn't perfected their military standing and because of that, they, as a whole, can...

There's a few options with UVB bulbs. You can utilize elongated T5 bulbs, such as the ones captainmorgan shared, or CFL bulbs. I haven't used the T5 before but rather the 13W UVB CFL bulbs from Reptisun: They make 26W CFL UVB bulbs as well. I'd like to think that the elongated T5 bulbs would...

I've compared Mouser CXB3590 3500K (CD) with Jerry JB CXB3590 3500K (CD), with PAR results favoring Jerry's CXB3590 slightly more so than the more expensive Mouser CXB3590 (~50$ vs. ~70$). Taking into account minor errors on my part during testing, there's no doubt in my mind that they were both...

I didn't enjoy the implementation of UVB rep bulbs either with my last tango with Mary. Finding "super frosty genetics" would prove more forthcoming and would definitely serve as more reliable method to attaining frosted buds.

Supplementing UVA through led stars may prove beneficial for a given plant but UVB is the stuff that would theoretically push trichrome production into a higher priority for the plant.

There was another thread that got side tracked by the discussion of UV use. Your best bet with UV is to use reptile CFL UVB bulbs, as LED UVB is either non-existent or super expensive.

It would be best if we used the term intensity instead of penetration when we are referring to the amount of light provided by a given light source. Penetration, like @PSUAGRO wisely said, is a "fuzzy term" which is casually misinterpreted by those who have not partaken in RIU's Penetration 101...

Please check this link out, you will most likely learn something from it: http://silassativarius.org/2014/10/03/does-exposing-your-plants-to-uvb-increase-thc-production/ Based off what I know, which is limited, most plants don't take too kindly to UVB but marijuana does. From what I've read...
